Member Info for east-ender

Recon there will be a couple of us at least from about 2.45 onwards.

Back bar of St Stephens wiill likely cater for 30 or so, but good sized area just outside can easily cater for.

Sanctuary House is a few minutes away, long Bar, card only mainly dining provision.

Westminster Arms is nearby, smallish but have said it will be rammed, so gonna be standing outside.

Not sure if anyone here has suggested anything in the way of meet-up beforehand in Westminster area.

Right, what have I learned today?

Thursday is still the new Friday and it is quite likely the pubs around Thursdays TH (Westminster), probably gonna be rammed.

Went in all the local pubs (some better than others depending what floats your boat.

Personal opinion is the St Stephens about 30yds to the right of Westminster Station (houses of parliament exit) is probably top of my list and are willing to cordon off the back bar and some of the open area outside. It's a Hall and Woodhouse pub with a fair selection of beers and does food.

The other one that is also up there Is 'the Feathers which is opposite St James Park station. It's a Nicholson's Pub with plenty of space inside, though does get busy.

Again, it has range of beers and has food. It's a slightly longer walk to the venue, but not by much.

All the others have said they'd struggle with a reasonably large group, or mainly catering for diners or just small.

Only one I felt was a no-no was the Two Chairmen.

Just my view based on a small pub crawl today for the general good.

If enough show interest in the St Stephen I can request them save the space offered.

Other than that, everyone can do whatever they wish or ask questions.

Other than that, the police around Westminster still employs at least 1 prick 🤣

Absolutely gutted to look in today to see C7 has passed... Met him a few years ago along with wildforce, great pair of guys and held big respect to both of them... had banter with C7 on many occasions being a life-long West Ham fan.

He's done fantastic fighting the big C for so long. RIP big fella, will miss ya !

Good amicable and enjoyable catchup earlier with the usual suspects plus some spouses, Retro and Deanosbooty... do recommend these get-togethers on odd occasionsthey come about. Cheers friends !

I do think I understand the benefits of taking on Telfer at a 'bargain price' (if it can be called that) using current costs etc.

My question surrounds taking on the costs that Newcrest currently contribute that will all of the sudden be passed to us (and how we propose to overcome or use that to our benefit if possible)... e.g. by charging to continue processing the telfer ore and perhaps taking on others ore processing (but am guessing thats pie-in-the-sky at the moment).

Thanks Bamps, not expecting anyone to be able to answer in detail, but perhaps open a discussion between those who can reasonably add their considered opinion to a discussion would be good.
Not necessarily a negative if revenue continues (or maybe not at all) but needs to be taken into account as could be an issue... sure Shaun and co will have thought about this, but doesnt seem to have been discussed here unless i've missed before.

Question should probably be directed at Shaun I guess, but Bamps/Paddy and others I respect, processing costs (I think Shaun said at the Townhall was £643)... what are our NEW rough costs expected to be if we take on Telfer ?
I haven't seen this mentioned at all that I recall.

Anyone listening to this?... any thoughts on the changes from 2024 ?

Did ask Shaun if we could have a 'meet the board' as per someone elses request during the meeting, but enhanced by explaining what they are doing/leveraging in their role on the board... Shaun said that is unlikely to happen, but assured me that they will be using their contacts and knowledge to further our positioning over coming period.
So although still have some doubts, am looking forward to seeing the results of their input.
