Check out my post below from 13 February. Was I right or was I right? 🤔🤔
Ghana Parliament Voting
13 Feb 2026 22:13
Here's the seats in Parliament.
NDC 185
NPP 87
Independent 4
The Minority NPP have 87 votes, if they get the 4 independents on their side they are on 91 votes, they need 184 to have 2/3 of the vote to Annul any legislation, that means they need 93 of the 185 NDC Majority to vote against their own party, which is never going to happen.
As far as the Minority NPP goes, this Parliament is just a propaganda exercise ahead of the next election, because they can't win any vote on any thing. They want EVERYTHING discussed in Parliament so that they can spin as many false narratives as they can, that each time might win them a few more votes at the next election, which is not until 2028, so they have a long time to try and chip away at the Majority NDC any and every way they possibly can.
With the revamped Mining Law, Royalty LI and Ewoyaa Agreement, just like everything else, the Minority NPP will demand they are discussed and, you can expect raised voices, strong words, false claims, accusations, incorrect data, finger pointing and many other things to come from the Minority NPP. Some of it is bound to end up in the news, because just like the USA certain parts of the press are politicised and will never fact check anything. They use the age old method of "if you throw enough mud, some of it has to stick".
At the end of the day though, the Mining Law, Royalty LI and Ewoyaa Agreement will all be passed by the Majority NDC, because they are the one's that created them, they are the one's backing them and, they are the ones with 185 votes to put them through
