No way will the US send in ground troops, they only have 50,000 in the whole of the middle east, meanwhile Iran has over 20x that number.
"Iran has approximately 610,000 active-duty personnel in its armed forces, including the army (Artesh) and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), according to 2025-2026 reports. Combined with an estimated 350,000 reservists, Iran’s total military manpower is close to 1 million personnel, supplemented by additional paramilitary forces such as the Basij."
It's not like Iraq where multiple other countries joined in to form an army of over 300,000 versus "At the time of the 2003 U.S.-led invasion, Iraq had approximately 538,000 active-duty personnel,"
No other countries are going to commit their troops to a U.S ground invasion of Iran, they aren't even joining in the missile attack. Israel doesn't have the troops to attack Lebanon and Iran, it's target for its troops is Lebanon.
U.S troops 'could' do a targeted 'special operation' like trying to get the enriched Uranium out, but it's an extremely dangerous mission because they don't know where it is now, they don't know how safely it's stored, they don't know how it's protected, they would face drone attacks that troops have no way to protect themselves from.
Ground troops would kill off any last vain hope Trump has of winning in the November elections, because democrats are against ground troops but so are majority of MAGA supporters, they voted for him BECAUSE he said he would never start or get into a forever war in some far off place. Bombing Iran he's trying to sell as not a war, ground troops is undeniably a war.
Trump has been going via Islamabad to get a peace deal for a couple of weeks, Iran has responded positively with Oil shipments being organised, Islamabad, Saudi, Egypt and Turkey are meeting today about ceasefire talks, they are intent on de-escalation and getting peace in the region.
