Synairgen got a decent rise today based on acceptance to go forward with a phase 111. It all adds weight to the Interferon trials so the next results from Hibiscus should make interesting reading. Hopefully an encouraging update will move our SP likewise...

RE the webcast , it's evident that Faron have entered another critical stage of the development of Bex- right now they have to secure funding to progress to stage 111 . The board with Marku at the spearpoint have to deliver sooner rather than later , so it's no surprise that tensions appear in webcasts- it's obvious they are not there yet- if they were they would not be using up time and resources attending yet more investor showcases. I still believe for PIs it's a game of patience, more data is required to finally pull together the complete story. The crunch is will the money last for this to happen- from what we know- the money in the pot plus soft loans it should do . The science looks good and as mentioned there have been no serious sell offs by the people who really know the science so we just have to hang in there...

Its fair to note that Acorda, USA drug development outfit bought Biotie for $ 363 million Jan 2016. I assume those connected and invested in the company made a fair amount out of this. Its also interesting to to note that the compounds Acorda accquired haven't done much - one of which was discontinued afters causing fatalities in a trial. The share price has tanked from $ 170 to $ 4.30 from 2017 to now. So selling Biotie when they did was a great piece of business- whatever Accorda aquired has done nothing for their SP so far.
Likewise with Faron , we really do not know what the outcome of the current trials will be, but we all know- or should if you invest in early stage drug development what the likely chances of success are, - in my opinion Faron would do well to sell out with any half decent offer as the future is seriously uncertain no matter what positive light they put on it. THe board and management of Faron are seasoned vets at this game and they know any reasonable offer is far better than soldering on, unless of course the early results are extroadinary. The results are interesting so far but not mindblowing so its fingers crossed that forthcoming results are good enough to precipitate an offer. I'm fascinated by Faron so am in for the long term. It's also noteworthy that despite the ups and downs the insiders hold a lot of stock and have offloaded little if any, and the managment board has been very stable compared to other similar companies which have had turbulent times.

Marku is doing what a decent hardworking CEO should be doing, out banging the drum, doing the interviews and getting conference dates set up, with the team. Faron need significant funding for the next step for Clevegen, so with the recent positive news I hopefully things will firm up for the next step. Nobody can push this to market faster that the normal timescales for this type of drug development but the SP will definitely move very quickly if a partner or a major fund raising is announced. I'm very happy as a LTH with the recent news, looking forward to more clinical updates .

Its very important to bear in mind that Traumakine's fast track status inthe USA is still valid so if encouraging early results are shown then the whole programme will move much faster than usual.

You do tend to lose faith a bit when Faron have been trumpeting on their website that that have been invited into these trials but have then done little if anything to influence how their product should be administered. Not good.

As predicted, REMAP was a waste of time, at least we know the market assigned no value to Traumakine, hence no severe drop in the SP - fingers crossed it stays this way. Its all down to Clevegen now.

The difference is that SNG have got behind their therapy , put the money in and are running and optimising the trials themselves. If Faron truly beleived in Traumakine they would have diverted money to run the trial themselves and could be most of the way to an answer by now. THe REMAP CAP is a hopeless forum for trialling T as there is no way it will be given the best chance as REMAP is not in the business of optimsing , so there has been no genotyping to identify the responders, it 's like enertering a gunfight knowing 2 out of 3 of your bullets are duds.

Completion date is 31 Dec 2021 , so a year on . There is no way a trial of this size could recruit and complete in 4 weeks. It is an interesting development but what relevance it really has is anybodies guess- the impetus has moved to getting people vaccinated rather than starting new trials , although ARDS as a condition caused by other factors is still an unmet need, so maybe we will get our reward. It just shows though that timescales are looking very stretched for Traumakine.

Noticed today Faron have a couple of vacancies, one for a trial master associate and the other for CRA - these are the people who do the field leg work when a clinicsl trial is being run ie they liase between the clinicians and the head office and ensure patients are recruited into the trial ina timely fashion. I assume this is connected with the Clevegen trial, so a good sign.

Thank God, I ve been in Horizon a long time, almost 4 years , seen some major ups and downs but have been seriously down for a long time, this gets me out with a decent profit . I was expecting to wait for years to get back to a fair valuation....

Today The FDA approved Remdesiver as a corona virus treatment. The FDA chose to completely ignore the WHO solidarity trial. OK, Trump does not like the WHO - he is pulling funding, but what's going on here ? Either the FDA does not recognize the WHO trial as being valid, or maybe it does but hey ho Gilead is a USA outfit so lets look after our own, or maybe the Solidarity trial was genuinely so badly flawed that the FDA does have a case. Unfortunately whatever the truth of the matter Faron do not have enough clout to convince anybody to approve Traumakine as it stands. It just shows when it comes to money - dont forget Gilead have just flogged $ 1 billion of Remdesiver to the EU, hence the USA have to say it works - anything goes and the patients are probably last in line to get a clear story.....) but before small investors.

Likewise Oil. I am holding out to whatever exit Faron achieve- partner , buyout, mega growth , or heaven forbid closing the doors. Plenty of fun and games ahead I reckon....

Does anybody in the Nordic region have a feeling for what the local investors think about the whole WHO affair, ? my view is that there may be some rather disguntled investors and confidence in Faron may have taken a hit , or alternatively Clevegen is the main talking point and people are philosophical about it. Any thoughts ?

Ghia, you've gone right to the heart of the issue- if say Faron had priortised getting to the bottom of the Traumakine problem a year ago, put in the money and started a trial , we could now be a year in, with some maybe some decent results which would would genuinely warrant fast track status. Traumakine could then be used for Covid patients under Farons direction without a full license. . OK this is all ifs and buts , however the problem is, as always is getting funding- I am sure Faron would have done this if at all possible , maybe we just need some more adventurous investors or pharma partners than we appear to have ?

THis makes me laugh , a quote from Science mag. re the Solidarity trail and Gilead - Big BioPharma... looks like Gilead moved pretty damn fast and signed up the EU for a cool $ l billion of Remdesivir even though they knew the drug was ineffective. At leat Faron cannot be accused of pulling stunts like that.
But the drug’s manufacturer, Gilead Sciences, casts doubt on the study. “The trial design prioritized broad access, resulting in significant heterogeneity in trial adoption, implementation, controls and patient populations,” the company says in a statement, “and consequently, it is unclear if any conclusive findings can be drawn from the study results.”

Gilead received the manuscript about Solidarity on 28 September, according to WHO. On 8 October, before the results became public, the company signed a $1 billion deal with the European Commission for a 6-month supply of the drug.
