Short or long! at the end of the day it’s only someone’s perception that the mkt is going to fall against someone’s opinion that it’s going to rise.
At least if your ‘long’ you can sit tight and ‘hope’ they go up, if your ‘short’ your ‘forced’ to close your position and often you can’t do it quick enough.
My position is long as I don’t know enough about shorting, what I do know is AML’s share price can go ‘down’ with the market, but with any news it could rocket against a falling market, and if the market was rising and good news come out shorters scrambling to close would cause a real squeeze and if the market is caught short of stock it could go up 30/40/50% in minutes.
If you think that’s crap only a few weeks ago the sp hit 28pish,, then it bounced and Moers joined the company and the sp opened up 20% higher even before the mkt opened the next day.
We know news is on the way as it’s the are currently recruiting directors etc, if Andy Cowell joins after leaving Mercedes this will be ‘like a skyrocket in flight’.

China are leading the V shaped recovery reports Bloomberg, further good news for DBX as part of its target market is wealthy eastern ladies, so much so that they are launching the suv in Beijing.

When AML last produced the figures all the bad news was there, and they have no guidance going forward.
Basically they’ve taken the hit then and even the fact they’ve now re-opened and sending cars out again is positive news.
I think yesterday’s appointment was largely dismissed by the papers etc, but he transformed JLR round and they are massive in comparison to AML, JLR is valued at around 10bn separately from its parent company.
I know people go on about a £1 share price and it’s not unrealistic based on ‘hope value’.

Spike was a bit short lived as America started off negative after the futures had indicated a positive start.

Looks like the market likes the appointment and the price is ticking up, not quite like the Moers news but then he was from Mercedes and ran the highly profitable AMG wing.

to Moers joining Stroll, Wolf and the Yew Tree Investors is they can become major shareholders in AML and through shares & share options they can become very wealthy men, ok the likes of Stroll is already wealthy, but much wants more as they say, also they are driven men who will always strive for much more.
The point I’m making is AML will look very attractive to any one they approach as they have as WG would say the ‘golden tickets’ to lure them with in the form of share options, and they could have a real chunk of AML, were as with Mercedes they may also get share options with a mkt cap of 40bn will they ever get a voice that’s heard, they will always be a employee, come to AML and they also become a influential owner.

If one of the Sunday papers tipped AML as a recovery play, I used to love when the shares you hold got tipped in the Sunday papers, followed up by a positive RNS which must be due with regard to new directors being appointed, it’s just a thought but a nice thought.

The DBX is the easy target, new model, turnaround is largely dependant on its success.
Look at the sp is holding well, believe what you see if there was any substance to this story the sp would be in the 40’s.

This DBX delay is just a nonsense de-ramp, the share price tells the truth it’s down a touch on a down day, in fact it’s holding really well when you consider a monthly rise of 86%, if your sitting on the sidelines waiting for low 60’s well them days have been and gone, or if your short be afraid, very afraid, you may go the loo for a minute and the price has rocketed and you may be sitting on the loo a whole lot more!

I agree he’s probably leaving the co in the shake up, what it does show is there is no major deal happening otherwise the co would be in a ‘closed period’ and buying or selling by directors is not allowed.

When people talk about another crash or spike re:covid virus they should look back at 9/11 we had the market crashing coming back and then crashing again, but by the end of the year the market hit its high point of the year & some.
Markets are looking for opportunities to buy and when there’s bad news it creates opportunities, no no one is comparing AMlL to 9/11 but the fact the company was in s... street has created a platform for the company to clear the debri and rebuild, luckily enough they got the fundraising completed in the early stages of the lockdown and have probably renogiated interest payments or refinanced at the better rates, us English love a comeback and I believe one is under way.

Paul, come on get real you say you’d rather it tickle up 2p a day???
Anyone would rather it jumped up 10p a day for example rather than 2p.
