Stroll’s consortium23 Sep 2020 22:46
3300, and others.
Thinking about the theory of somebody accumulating shares & ‘The Stroll theory’, doesn’t stack up, he could of just negotiated directly with IndustrialInvestor and bought the lot, then distributed the shares after, as he did after the rights issue.
Well if that was the case he wouldn’t have had to run the rights issue to include retail investors.
Also it would smack of him trying to take the company private, but he could of launched a bid to buy the company months ago when it was cheaper.
To me it can only be either a institutional investor building a holding for a ‘special situations’ fund, who specialise in recovery plays.
Or Daimler, to me they have to be favourites, if they had tried to buy directly from INDUSTRIALINVESTOR then it would have possibly leaked out and the price would have scuppered the deal.
But if Daimler had employed a market maker to buy in a slow measured way, possibly hiding behind non-disclosure agreements it could be done, and they use a myriad of offshore companies to assist, that is the way a lot of big holdings are built.
It’s Daimler for me.
