Abingdon have enough cash -in- bank to develop a pipeline with potential . If they don't get a decent contract in the short-term then they can always raise more funds if the pipeline looks attractive...but that will be increasingly difficult . I personally don't think Abingdon will fold but need to pull a rabbit from their hat which looks decidedly empty from where I'm sitting !

P.s. the self-testing market potential is huge and entirely underestimated , IMHO..... especially in the prevention of outbreaks in schools , colleges, workplaces, hospitals , nursing homes etc.. Self-testing kits will be in household medicine cabinets just like a packet of paracetamol ! So don't think there is any long-term risk here !

HappyDays , I think you are right about the flu test but a combined flu and covid test would be better for anyone coming down with a serious bug .
The great advantage of self-testing is proving sickness to an employer..just send a photo via email of the test results....job done ...no more disbelieving employers !
So I do believe the market for self-testing will continue and expand .

There could be a delay if they are going to continue any collaboration with the new owners of Vatic's IP . I.e. flu test plus the continuation of the covid test .
It makes better news if they can present a bad set of figures with something positive to say .

I think there could be a delay in publishing their year end results due to the Vatic situation plus they won't be very good ! .......probably negotiating with whoever bought Vatic's IP . I've tried to find out who they are but nothing coming up on searches .

It's probably taking a long time to approve because it's an entirely novel approach...

I hope they are in talks with the new owners of Vatic's IP to continue the production , perhaps that's why they haven't said anything at this early stage . It must have taken lots of time and money to bring it to the market . It's the technology behind it that is interesting and it can be applied to other viruses.

I would have thought Abingdon would make a statement concerning Vatic to keep their shareholders informed ! I think that is a real loss especially with losing the flu test development.

It's a new beginning Zoom so the Flu , Lymes , and HepC tests are still in the pipeline . I'm sure we will be updated soon on their progress .
If mistakes were made in the past I hope Abingdon can now move onwards and upwards ( especially the sp ! )

I would say Abingdon have had extremely bad luck . Every-which-way they have turned has been thwarted and I also think politics has got in the way of progress.
I believe this post-covid-pandemic era is a new beginning for Abingdon who now have changed direction and have the money in the bank to help them on their way . I just hope they have enough time to pull it off before their money runs out !!

Once they can get the tests for flu , hep C and lymes up and running that will be great but it's going to take time and money . As soon as there is news on these three the better ! .. A big covid contract at this stage would have been ideal but it's looking increasinly unlikely.

I doubt if the Taiwan deal will happen now at this late stage ....I think the emergency is over !
The deal with the European customer isn't happening either it seems .
Vatic have gone bust .
The mobile phone app has limited use .
The share price ,at 6p per share , is at rock bottom, cash in bank level .
It's not looking good is it ! I won't be selling any of my shares at this level as you would be just giving them to the market makers to make money on them when things pick up ...which I'm positive they will .

6p per share must surely equate to the amount of cash Abingdon have in their bank account or very close ? The best bit of immediate news would be if Taiwan went ahead with their order . But it has been months now and the peak of their latest outbreak of Covid has really subsided . Is this deal really still on or has it evaporated into thin air ?

Yes I would imagine they have bought all the rights to Vatic ...just a wild guess . It's a highly accurate and sensitive test with patented technology and could have a great deal of potential. Vatic may not have had the funds to market it properly.
