I shouldn't think it will be too long to wait for some news . I'm optimistic that there will be multiple RNS's about the situation in Zim including the JV . Let's hope sooner rather than later .

I was just wondering if the diamonds would be cleaned and valued in batches ? If you have a whole pile of diamonds to be cleaned it would be much safer to leave them in the bank and take them out in batches to be valued and cleaned and sorted . Then the cleaned ones put back in the bank . You wouldn't really want to risk all by taking them out in one go . Perhaps that's why events aren't happening quite so quickly ? I think it might take some time in that case . The problem is you don't know what's in the parcel until they have been cleaned and valued .

There needs to be an RNS about why an RNS hasn't been issued yet .

This is a long-term buy IMHO ...the long-term trend will be upwards given the huge reserves of lithium . The opening-up of the market for shares in the USA will create lots of extra demand as investors try to get in whilst the sp is relatively low . Once a JV partner comes along ....sooner rather than later ....then anyone not in now will have missed the boat . Such is the demand for lithium and reserves of lithium right now ...it's the latter (reserves) which is so pressing for EV car manufacturers.

P.s. assuming they can be certified as not being blood diamonds but really can't see that being a problem as they were simply dug from they ground and didn't go anywhere...but not sure how long that certification process takes .

Thanks for the links ...the diamonds would have to be removed from the bank for cleaning which is a complex business needing specialist expertise and equipment . Once cleaned I think there could be an RNS along the lines of estimated value/insured value/weight . Anything that materially alters the value of a listed company must surely need an RNS ?

Once the US markets open things should pick up with the sp ...I hope !

It's going to be a very interesting year ahead . Just need to be patient with this one . But anyone wanting cheap shares in a future lithium mine now is the chance it won't stay at this level for any length of time that's for sure .

Well , following an article in I.C. , Cleantech Lithium (CTL) is heading on upwards . It has licences in Chili for lithium . Vastly undervalued from a net present value point of view . There is a world lithium rush right now ...."There's lithium in them there hills !! "

Well the process of cleaning rough diamonds is much quicker these days apparently, what used to take about 24 hours can be done in less than an hour due to microwave technology ! I'm just off to microwave some porridge...

I didn't know there was a change in thought about a free-market backdrop late last year .
It will be interesting to see how things develop. I can't
see , however , Chile allowing foreign companies to simply come in and plunder their lithium resources. A national lithium production company would seem likely as you say .

In the article in the Investors Chronicle there is no mention about a draft bill for the nationalisation of the lithium mines and industry in Chile . What is the situation with that ? Could the industry be nationalised in the future ?

I think the signing of the joint venture in Zim will come pretty quickly after the receipt of the diamonds .

Thanks for this link ...difficult to work out the legal situation (wouldn't wish to be a lawyer...what a headache ! ) but Vast do really have a historical interest in the area so once the diamonds are returned I think they will be given a chance to mine again and will use the diamonds to finance any future projects as well as sorting their balance sheet out . Diamonds are no use stuck in the ground so let's hope Vast will be part of the team extracting them sometime in the near future ! I don't think huge amounts of equipment will be needed before the project can be profitable if they get their licences sorted . This is only my view on the situation so DYOR !

If 1% of the 129 400 carats of mainly industrial quality diamonds are gem quality then that's 1294 carats of gem quality diamonds which could then be polished and cut to add further value .

Once the parcel of diamonds has been sold is this joint venture going to happen straight away ? Is it ready to roll ?
