I'm really not sure on that legal point . A joint venture would be necessary as that is the only way the Zimbabwean government would allow a foreign company to mine for diamonds . So new agreements would have to be signed with whoever joins Vast in any mining in the region . The release of the packet of diamonds was negotiated with the government but what was included in those negotiations concerning any previous licences hasn't been made known as far as I can tell .

My take on it is that the government of Zimbabwe is very keen to develop their mining industry and the release of the packet of diamonds back to Vast will result in the rekindling of investment in Vast's previous licensing agreements. Creating jobs and bringing wealth and opportunities for everyone concerned ...Vast, the local community , and the Zimbabwean government.

There are so few risks with this company now . One of those risks is if WW3 were to suddenly happen and any other risks are superficial ! " No brainer " springs to mind here .

Nicely put Casper .....the sp as it stands .60p is about the value of the bag of diamonds give or take a few million .

I think .60 is about the bottom of the bucket . That was the cheapest entry point for me .

From the latest podcast and the negotiations with the government for the parcel of diamonds I'm sure they must be all present and correct , safe and sound in the bank . The sp can only go in an upwards trend from now on in my view !

If it's a negotiated deal with the government then both sides to that negotiation would have to know a good estimate of the value of the diamonds before any negotiation . I would say the number of carrots quoted was the exact amount in the bank and it's only the quality of the diamonds themselves that is the unknown factor as they haven't been cleaned .

I think the diamonds will be picked up very quickly and a confirmation RNS issued shortly confirming this as they will need to be insured by Vast given they are now the legal owners .

Vast must have needed the cash quickly and the parcel of diamonds will be a nice bonus and incentive for those involved in this placement of shares.

Yes , I agree with you , but it's what happened to the parcel of diamonds under Robert Mugabe which is the issue here ....all those years ago . It will only come to light once the parcel has been handed over , the diamonds cleaned and then valued. Please have a read of this article I posted previously. As you know
It's very important for Vast as they need the full value of these to finance their future projects without diluting their shares any further.

So as you say it exists but the contents might not necessarily be all the originals . I think the market for these shares in Vast will be pretty volatile over the next week or so until they are properly valued .
As long as it all ends in a resumption of mining in Zim then that will be a great outcome so it's looking good.

I want to know if any representative of Vast has seen this package of diamonds ?? ...This makes sober reading ! And yes I'm very much invested but worried.

I would imagine that the parcel of diamonds would be industrial grade . Any whoppers or anything really special wouldn't have even made it in the bag in the first instance ! So I would expect they are all present and correct ...let's hope .
