Not wanting to use “this time it’s different” but it sort of is.
It’s been through all the government bits, it is a signed live contract. They are now doing the admin bits that actually start it. There’s no nefarious blocking, just good old African timelines.
I imagine dealing with all the regional African airlines to finalise a start date and have IATA change the taxes collected on every ticket across the world has taken longer than thought etc.
It’s not like the 3 year delay where opposition party and likely pocket liners were holding it up, it’s past that bit
