Happy Birthday NoFear.
Thanks for all your excellent, Fearless posts, on the CINE bb, and the others that you have a vested interest in.
Have a good one:)
Very true Fun Investor. Next week it would be great to forge 60p as our new baseline to launch upwards from...it’d be nice to say adios to the 40’s and 50’s.
Broker1 you’re right too, Trump is going to do whatever it takes to try and get a US vaccine first past the gate. By his own admission he’s a terrible loser, and losing to Great Britain isn’t in his script. The decision from the FDA re Approval is meant to be decided on 10th Dec, but his choice for FDA chief, Dr Stephen Hahn, is going to be put under intense pressure by Trump and Hahn’s boss Alex Azar to make America first in the race for Vaccine approval.
I understand the freezer trucks are already at Pfizer’s manufacturing plant in Michigan waiting for the green light, where after they’ll be racing to Michigan airport and the magic vaccine will be flying around the States and the World.
No world leader would not want to bask in the glory of that ‘win’.
The Markets will love it too. Certainty.
Good luck all.
Nice one Steve K,
Nice to hear that you know the chap personally and that he is a decent sort. I'll heed your advise! Thanks.
Kudos to Pink Eye for holding all this time. That's real dedication. Must admit that when we hit the highs after the very first Pfizer Vaccine news, i did diversify a little bit, still got a Tesla Model 3 Performance in CINE though!
I always love seeing the list of Cine's forthcoming movie schedule. It's sensational. There's 6 movies on there (Top Gun 2, Wonderwoman 1984, Mission Impossible 7, No Time to Die, Matrix 4, West Side Story, Kingsman) that i can't wait to go and see and quite a few others i'd go and see with friends. I'm definitely not alone, 2021 is going to be an incredible earnings year for Cine with the sheer volume of Blockbusters on offer, and the desire for movie goers to return to the big screen (and i don't mean a 60" led TV in your living room!).
Good luck all.
Thanks Guys and thanks @NOFEAR for a couple of recommendations; Capita was your idea, and one of my Dad's old share's that i've went into last month. Doing well, thanks. It's with a little trepidation that i say i even took a punt on Amigo loans on Thursday at just over 9p which, to be honest, i wouldn't have done before, but with their refinancing in order, and a new more sensible board of directors now, and just now waiting to see when lending can restart, it seems like a bargain. Don't love the company, but as a vehicle to make a profitable investment, i'm onboard.
Again, good luck guys, enjoy your weekend.
Lots of positivity today.
Great to see.
Here's another fun fact for you guys, AMC Entertainment, our biggest rivals being the No 1 Cinema chain in the world are currently trading at $4.45 per stock. This is 57% of their Feb 20 Pre Covid price of $7.76. You might think this is pretty good, but bear this in mind, their Stock price hit an unbelievable $7.02 on 4th September this year before the Vaccine news, before Biden won the US Elections, and even before Tenet had opened in the USA!
Now bear in mind our competitors at AMC have huge financial commitments, and were, only last month, touting possible Chapter 11 filing, due to such serious financial concerns. Of course this was before the three Covid Vaccines, were announced, before Biden won the US election, and when Wonderwoman 1984 was on/off, but irrespective to think we are trading at at less than 33% of our Feb 20 is, IMO, absolutely astonishing.
I have to say i have a slightly more diversified portfolio than August this year. There's still CINE, but over the last month CAP & SAGA got added, and within the last few weeks some US listed EV stocks - Xpeng and Nio (because some of them to me feel like what i imagine investing in Apple/Microsoft not as early as the 80's but in the 00's was like!). They will show volatility (awesome for day traders) but in the long term, these two are only going up. As with any shares/stocks DYOR and only invest what you can afford to lose.
Good luck all.
Good Morning guys,
That was a bit of a roller coaster of a week, after the 30% rise from last Friday's close to Tuesday this weeks high of 61.82p. I know some of us were expecting a more meteoric rise after CINE's immediate future was assured.
The following days poor General poor economic news, profit taking and MM games took us down to 52p, and i'm not afraid to admit i was concerned. The recovery play, particularly late Friday coming up to close was impressive, and i am sure that next two weeks (IMO) with positive vaccine news relative to FDA and BMA, and European approvals will give the market positive sentiment to keep us on the upward trajectory, or at least keep us in the 60's as a baseline to springboard from on good news.
True fact; Incredibly, we're still only at 32% of our Pre Covid share price of 181p which we hit on 11th February 2020. Cine is still stellar value. There's no other FTSE company like us with this much share price potential.
Amazing to think i came in here at 49p back in August one week before Tenet was released here (& before Jhango took me for a quick ride, and the SP gave me many stressful days!). To think i recommended a friend of mine invest here today at 54p telling him he'd double his money by September 2021 (i'm being pessimistic with my forecast). He's going to avoid the stress that i had and has come into CINE at 54p with - funding guaranteed, three positive vaccines out, a New US President, and stream of top Movies being released in 2021. Hindsight.....Perfect 20/20 vision.
Like i say, not too late at all to get onboard the CINE train, and be pretty sure that in 9 months or so, you will, IMO, double your money, as there's a lot of fuel left in the CINE tanks!
Good luck all
Yes, The SP should have gone up nicely recovering yesterday's losses on that promising, but speculative news.
Unfortunately we are having to deal with a large number of people selling and taking quick profits off the CAP shares they bought yesterday after 10% &7.5% drops, and general negative market sentiment,
If this news had been released last week......different story.
Anyway here's hoping talks go well with re ESS.
Good luck
Fair play TallChap. I agree we are a global multinational with the vast majority of our Cinemas outside the UK.
But we are a UK registered FTSE company and we’ve all seem over the last few months how disproportionately what happens here in the UK affects CINE’s SP.
There’s a lot of talk about where the SP should be. In order for it to take a concerted trajectory upwards
We need;
Vaccine approval from FDA/BMA/EMA
Covid cases (not only deaths) to come down before worldwide authorities ease restrictions - remember CINE is a global company - not just what you see in England.
Brexit deal (the market will take any deal now, rather than no deal)
Some timeline from Mooky on reopening. This certainty is needed as otherwise (irrespective of the $750m finance package) where’s and when does the revenue stream start flowing again?
Once these are agreed the SP will be nicely on the up and up, until then the SP will fluctuate within the 50’s and frankly if even one or two of the above points don’t resolve relatively quickly, realistically we can easily see 40’s again. The financial package we received news of on Monday has had its effect on the SP. New CINE investors need more good news, and unfortunately a lot of that is out of CINE’s control.
Good luck all.
Yes @couchman, although as @Goldy post shows us, they are hoping for the Oxford/Astra vaccine to get approval before all others, possibly next week.
The funk we are in at the moment is also hangover from the Chancellors gloomy economic forecast yesterday and the knife edge negotiations that are taking place to get a Brexit deal (of some description) over the border.
All contribute to uncertainty in the market place.
Echo these sentiments.
Had to top up as well at 43.23p.
Not often i thank the MM's but today.....
Brilliant recovery from Capita....up from a 41.08p (Low!) to 47.20p as i write.
Crazy profit for some day traders. Great long term holds for others.
No more of that please, just slow and steady increases.
Good luck all.
Morning Guys,
A carbon copy of what occured yesterday.
The whole of the market was dropped.
Capita fell nearly 10% at it lowest point!. It's recovered 6% of that already.
MM's making money
Don't worry CINE will recover by this afternoon to get back into the green/blue.
Exactly Steve, and Moola.
Imagine if someone had told you only 3 weeks ago, on Friday 4th November, when the SP closed at 27.64p, that in just 3 weeks time;
1. We'd have three vaccines tested with Phase 3 trial results showing 90% efficacy.
2. Mooky would have secured $750m of funding to secure CINE's future.
3. Wonderwoman 1984 would hold to its release date of December 2020.
4. Oh, and the SP would be riding at exactly 100% of what it was on 4th November, 3 week ago.
If i told you that 3 weeks ago, i'm pretty sure a large swatch of people would have look at me with incredulity. Well it happened.
That's where we are now. A quantum leap from 3 weeks ago.
Good luck all
Don't worry about CINE today guys. Yes it's down 5%, and i know many were looking to kickstart up from yesterday, but most shares are down today, that's what the slightly gloomy economic forecast did. These are all down;
Capita
NEX
Aston Martin
Rolls Royce
TUI
Easyjet
IAG
Saga
Go Ahead Group
I could go on and on. There's only about 19 shares in the whole FTSE 250 that are up, and 10 of them are in the one percent increase range.
CINE's got her funding, and backers, she's going to be absolutely fine. Like i have said, i fully expect Mooky to be on the Zoom chat to the Studios working on dates, as the ones on the Cineworld website were set pre-vaccine times.
Dust yourself down at 4.30pm 'cause tomorrow CINE lives to fight another day!
Ok fellow CINERS,
An honest question for you;
When should CINE and Regal open up again?
Cinema's here in England have got the greenlight to open up in Tier 1 and 2 areas from 2nd December.
The USA and the rest of the world are obviously working on different schedules.
WonderWoman 1984 is being released to Cinema's on 25th December in the USA and 16th December in the rest of the world.
There is content available after this date, but no blockbusters until Bond at the beginning of April, unless Mooky can work some magic with the studio(s) and get some high end content bought forward to Feb or so, to fill in before Bond in April. There's a load of what i call, and i mean no offence, 'B' movies ie non blockbuster that would normally be shown in cinema's next to the blockbuster.
IMO AMC (as the world's largest cinema chain) in particular are going to relish the fact that they, seemingly, will have the majority of the market for WW1984 to themselves when it opens.
To put my two pennies worth in, i think we all agree the majority of Cinema goers are below 35 years old. The stat is around 60% of all Cinema attendees are below 35 years old. This age range, in my experience, are the same age range that, when lockdowns are eased, are content to go to University, a Gym, a bar, a restaurant, and if they could on holiday. Cinema's fall into these categories too, less so IMO, as we know from research, watching a movie at the Cinema is less 'risky', that attending any of the above. There was a wonderful stat Mooky detailed stating that no Covid breakout's were reported from persons attending Cinemas when they reopened in August.
I believe that the age range mentioned, below 35's, are tired of being restricted, and would happily visit a Cinema, if there were decent movies in place to watch. Wonderwoman 1984 makes one of them.
I want the world to recover from this year safely, of course, and the Vaccines will help bring back that normalcy, but i also want CINE to start bringing in the Revenue stream again, without giving ground to our competitors.
What do you think?

Yes Prayfor,
Just waiting to hear what Rishi has to say in his Mini budget.
Strange because most of what he is going to say has been reported. Whitehall leaks like a sieve!
Looks like he might have saved a few bit and pieces.....my Capita flew down 7.5% today on this news, and it usually moves like a Leviathan! All seems to have steadied now in anticipation.
Cine's stood up well today in the face of adverstity (including the 'news' article this morning.

Hi @Myoh, no questioning your post, but is that true.
Opening in Late March 2021?
I'm surprised this isn't all over the internet yet if its an email to all Regal Staff.
I know James Bond's No Time to Die is slated for release on April 2nd, but late March seems to be cutting it very fine. Would have thought he'd have at least 3-4 weeks before hand to dust the cobwebs off, get the staff up to speed again, let the world and his/her dog know that he's open for business again. There would be a decent selection of films to open with on the run up to Bond.
