everyone knows BP & XOM, SHEL, CVX, COP are not tied to oil price. Never have been.

Even OXY isn’t.

You will also find the VIX is disconnected from reality too. It trades at 19-20bps.

Markets and SP’s are all disconnected.

I can see this happening close to March on current earnings looking bad already from MMM, MSFT BAC whom have already reported.

Would wait for a big dip to buy more though. I’m waiting until March to consider buying more ROCHE play the CHF too, and possibly AMGN too.

Earnings Feb 9th

This has potential to explode in 2023 and finally leave GSK like dust.

Gsk Gave 61.5p fir 2022, making that 4% on SP of around 1420p.

2023 GSK expect to give 45p so Dividend will be around 3.5%, which is the industries average for pharma’s.

The trouble is GAK has gone no where the last 3 decades, abd so is stuck range bound down here.

GSK have headwinds mainly debt of £18bn this is there main concern holding it back i believe

Look lower around 1300 in April time..

Something like NVS could do after they sold there stake in Roche last year. They need help too.

I would like an opinion on NG v SSE as an investment.
Firstly, i see both as defensive plays for this year, as energy prices are not going back to where they were in 2020/2020. There here to stay for a few yrs 2 or 3 maybe 4 at a push.

It’s about having storage for the gas that we extract. This is the UK’s problem , right?
Secondly, we have the war ongoing and this nisnt going away overnight, so can see this ongoing for 2-3 yrs at least bare minimum, maybe 4 at a push.

NG is not just a Uk Business, but has American subsidiary business too.

I have too many oilies in my portfolio all in profit.

Centrica estimated profits could surge by as much as 25-30% in next earnings call in Feb.
So, i’m tempted with NG, having held them from 2004 to 2013, then sold and bought a biotech.
So NG trades in a range between 900-1000p.
i know it has a political risk due to ofgem and the price cap etc this yr which could be lowered to accommodate the lower gas prices.

My punt.
China opening up is bad news, though China have kept quiet about the death rate from COVID. So, if that continues, maybe China opening up without media speculation might be good. Doubt it very much.

As i posted last year lots of times, the dividend from this yr and onwards is going to be reduced due to demand from closure from China and world issues.

The reason the P/E is low, is just that ! It’s not got growth prospects at present due these economic factors.

Wait until March to see about buying a tranche here not now. We need to hear about how the bad winters have affected consumer spending inflation numbers and it’s affect of markets. 10% would definitely be sliced from FTSE, 20% is more likely …

GS cuts to underweight and treated to 1350p and raises AZN to buy with £135. Iv been so lucky to chose the right stocks , still looking icy here…

You need to take a step back before going fully loaded into GSK.
Look at Glaxosmithskline from 2000 onwards, it has not gained, gone anywhere. It would have lost you money against the FTSE… big to date.

December 1998 2125p intra day high. no mind 1900p since then.
GSK has been awful.

But, look at AZN, ABBVIE, JNJ, NVS, ROCHE, BMY, VERT, SNY, MRK, MCK, PFE it’s endless.

I would get all excited with the SD.
I’m my view companies that give out these so called Special Dividends show lack of direction.
Would it not be better to consider raising dividend

China re-opening is just as bad as China lockdown.

The Chinese vaccine has been widely talked as being inferior to the western vaccine counterpart and don’t expect good news next yr from China.
We all know that China will not be buying the western vaccine to shore up there vaccine supplies as they want to be seen as the powerhouse.
Though we wait and see.
