I follow and invest in both US / Swiss & UK equities, more so USA since 2011.

I believe banks are in huge trouble because they bought Mortgage Backed Securities and Treasuries at much lower rates than today.

On top of this 1% deposits being drained from them to get 5% Cd's and money market funds.

I was watching 'Regions Financial'. Look at what happened to them Last Friday 20th October, ticker RF, and also HSBC, GS, CITI, and Morgan Stanley all hit 52 week lows..

This is going to end badly with the fed as usual to the rescue with taxpayer money and rate cuts and more QE money printing because they are proven to do this over and over again. The banks and markets more important than inflation fighting but the banks and financials are nowhere to put your money these days.

Also, should Banks not be trading at higher P/E than at present if making billions. Or is this just a smoke screen

RSI hit 65-70 in last hour.

I bought another good chunk here.

They predict a high possibility if $2.25 for 2024. This is in AUD. so that equates to £1.14 for the year. Bug drop from 2021.

A base case scenario is for payout of $1.95.

Again, why does everyone want massive dividends??

Try and understand, the higher the dividend gets it stunts growth for the SP and shareholders appetite to invest.

Look to USA oilies and how they grow their dividend.

I have CLEARLY pointed this out below somewhere.

Uk oilies severely lag US counterparts but double the percentage from 1994-2023, and even 2020 to 2023.

The 4% is a current a good level to be at rather than go back to the 6% they used to pay, then had to cut. NO USA oily has cut there dividend, but UKS have many times since 2009

I hold both UK & USA oilies and afraid USA oilies performing much better since 2011 against each other

So, this has underperformed due to its high dividend compared to other TRUSTS.

RSI & MA are bad signs on this one.

We are now in Bearish territory in stock indices after S&P broke thst 4200 to fall to 4112pts on 27/10.

I think results will drop just like USA's. Down to 525p? Could be wrong but we'll see

S&P broke that support level of 4200 and continued down to finish at 4117pts on 27th October.

If we do t get any uptrend now, this pattern is very similar to October 2008.

Time will tell.

I for one would disagree on raising dividends on this volatile market and that's possibly what both SH3L & BP are thinking.

We need to copy US counterparts with there growth. UK ftse blue chips have big divi's and thwarts growth to the likes of US stocks.

Leaving it at 4% is high enough.

No S&P / DOW listed US oily / bank has cut any dividends, because they have there payouts set at reasonable levels.

Just my opinion.

It's about looking after this messed up world we live.

Far too many people fail to take responsibility for their actions nowadays.

One would undoubtedly bin the bag when they got home, that bag would go to landfill site, sit there for years polluting our planet! That's what the essence of the story is. Better luck next time.

In regards to the £120 price targets that some analysts had set over last 12months, we will not hitting that anytime soon.

The S&P fell through that special support level 4200 last night.

Share price targets you see from any broker are always over12months.

I have over the last 20yrs accumulated many different shares, though, I concentrate on pharma, like ABBVIE, GOLD, JNJ, AZN, VERT, ROCHE, NVS

What I would say in regards to this stock, is that HIGH dividends get hit hard and fall fast due to rising interest rates thst are going to be sitting high for another year at least.
