Water invasion sounds terminal to me and if that was the case then I think they would have abandoned the well by now.

I'm not an expert but they seem to be two entirely different things.

We haven't been told specifically but we were told following the shut in that it occurred during that period. From what I've read in the past liquid loading takes place due to gas pressures not being strong enough to lift the microscopic globules of fluid and so they fall to bottom and can fill the well blocking off gas flows.

It's complicated to understand but it seems it could be both the cause of the initial problems, as a result of the shut ins, or a combination of both.

To remove it, the method they are attempting first as I understand is foaming

Tthe article refering to the process as experimental was written in 2007 so I imagine they have proven it a viable option to attempt

I agree with that BG and from that is also my basic understanding however when it was said that the well filled during the shut in period I tried to research further and found that during shut in periods you can get liquid loading which basically is the miniscule bubbles of water in the gas normally brought to the surface are not lifted due to insufficient pressure therefore the water molecules join together and builds up in the bottom of the well and lack of pressure means it will not lift without intervention.

That is my understanding of what they are attempting at the moment and as I said last week if water is just pouring through I would have thought the well would have been abandoned. The fact that they are attempting the foaming (The cheapest option) shows they are hopeful of achieving a good result but there are further options

BG as I said previously on this point. We do not know the situation when it was inferred that we have water invasion.

From the image on page 17 it might appear that it would simply flood through but the water we currently have could simply as a result of liquid loading due to lack of gas pressure and temperature during the shut in which seemed to be inferred in a previous ops update last year.

I would like to know a little more about the difficulties they are having but there are more options to lifting this fluid than just the foam method.
