No volume yet, but hopefully that will come. Interesting to me: "The Company believes that high quality drilling locations currently in inventory are best left in inventory and opportunities to acquire additional production, land and drilling locations are best acquired in market conditions such as today's." Presumably that means leave the oil where it is and go for acquisition. Buy distressed assets from those hit hardest by current circumstances and on to Canadian and world domination! Oops, bit carried away there; but still dig out the Pointer Sisters smidsy.
Please could we have some of our posts back? I realise there was only about 1 per month, but I am sure the authors thought they were pearls of wisdom. :D
Ampthill, a month has gone by with little rise so now is your time for your second tranche I think. 3 month MACD is just about to cross upwards. Divi coming up as well.
Turn my back for 5 mins and all hell breaks loose. What a day - 30% rise. For what reason? Big background buys? Brad doing some kind of deal? The majority of trades this morning were under £1,000, so hardly an institution there. Just been dummy quoted at 4.5 to sell / 4.9 to buy, so I don't know what the 4.7p trade is.
Yes, just a formality. The last 'Holdings in Company' rns (Jan 2014) showed them increasing to 27.58% of our 163.8m shares. If they had sold even a couple of million shares I believe that would have to be notified as more than 1%.
Morning Smidsy, your comment has caused the mms to raise the ask to 4p - lol. Haven't Henderson submitted the same form regularly for ages? Not sure if they have actually sold any.
Divi is 1.81p per share and the sp only closed down 0.8p. Decent result there.
Nicely explained Obadhia; perhaps TD grape has imbibed a little too much of his namesake? I have noticed some pundits saying that the oil price will drop much further; others have the opposite view. http://news.yahoo.com/kuwait-hails-faster-expected-oil-price-rally-084722005.html Although the price must eventually go much higher, I doubt if anyone could be confident as to when that will happen. Could be this year, but more likely later. Either way, Brad has a strategy to take best advantage.
Yes, this part is particularly interesting. I had previously assumed that some of the wells had been 'choked' back owing to geological issues. It may be that the cost of water disposal by truck had been a major factor. Now that we have the water disposal well we can presumably extract at the most efficient rates. The question is, I suppose, do you pump it now or leave it down there and wait for the oil price to recover further?
Yes, give the Pointer Sisters a spin. Any ideas why we have had couple of good days when MAGP have not? Is it the rns and email effect or the oil price having the most influence?
Just received mail circular from Brad highlighting the big saving in water treatment. Loving this part: "With the cost savings initiatives we kicked off in November (we got on it earlier than most), the weaker Canadian dollar, the beneficially lower heavy oil differential, lower G&A expenses, lower operating costs and lower royalties, the company is making positive operating cash flow today, and is expected to continue to do so down to a price equivalent to approximately US$32 WTI per barrel." We are in as good shape as possible considering the oil price and looks like Brad has done a superb job.
Hello Geckoman, no posts for nearly a year. Anyone else about? I have been investing in physical gold and gold ETFs for a few months as it seems to many that there could be an almighty crash coming. I have my doubts on that, but reckon gold could still be good this year. Was also looking for a precious metal miner to back but now think a company such as this with a wide portfolio of miners might be better. Noticed the rise here in the last few days presumably in response to the increase in NAV. Why is the NAV per share quoted so often by rns here? Is that normal with this type of company?
Another all-time low for the sp this morning as oil price keeps dropping. As stated below, just stick with Edge and we should see the "big, positive shareholder value moves in 2015". The company is just ticking over until Brad can identify a good time to start drilling again and possibly making some acquisitions; may not be for a few months yet so hang on in there guys.
Yes, roll up, get your last minute present here. It will be worth a lot more by next Christmas than the average gift you receive tomorrow. Happy Christmas to all Edgers and a very prosperous New Year.
Patch, not completely electric but we can do you plenty of hybrid buses here in Brum: http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/local-news/new-fleet-of-buses-lined-up-640938 Still use diesel though, but probably not from Canada. Great to see a patch of blue this morning. (See what I did there?)
ridiculous that about 10 grand's worth of sells can knock about a MILLION pounds off our mcap. AIM is a daft; I must be a bit daft to stand it.
Yes, that's right. The 1st Quarter results were on Sedar on the Friday night and then an rns on Monday 1st September. Perhaps the same again this Friday for Monday 1st December; but will the drilling programme come as well? That was 4th December 2013.
One sell of 70k and 2 buys of 45k; nothing on ISDX. I don't think I will be biting my fingernails just yet Magnum. Perhaps the rns will be at the opening time of Calgary office. Certainly due soon.
