“SoldGold and the Cascabel Project
The Cascabel copper-gold project, the country's largest undeveloped mine, has also attracted attention. Owned by SolGold, in which Jiangxi Copper has a stake, the Ecuadorian Government has inked a preliminary agreement with the investor for this project as well. The project has filed an application to enter the mining phase, and the government aims to sign a formal mining agreement before the end of its current term. This would allow the project to secure all necessary construction and mining-related permits, facilitating the start of construction in 2025 with a capital expenditure of up to US$5 billion”

Warren won’t be drawn on other directors but thinks Scott is
“Doing a great job” and has said so to several investors
Noboa yesterday
“New Ecuador needs immediate actions to ensure resources that strengthen security, employment and protection of the most vulnerable”
Smickster not sure how anyone could “know” a bid is or isn’t coming ?
I think the hurdles are mostly geopolitical here.
Really interesting article about the challenges facing the mining industry in Ecuador but it’s clear they need to get the stuff out of the ground.
The reserves table illustrated is a nice reminder

Paddy do you identify as a boy ?
Same again ….. jumped all over the rise ….. hey Ho
They never seem to let it go but it’ll have to happen sooner or later 2.6m traded ….. not too shoddy
Agreed Sharket …… Fort if you ask Nick he’s fully behind Scott
“ Sack the lot of them”
Mather is one of them ??
Hi Eloro he did elaborate on his answer a short while ago in his reply to China Blue
“Really depends, I would think if there is competitive pressure to move, things can be done quickly. With SolGold I imagine some potential buyers are reworking the mining plan which takes a lot of time. Even once that is done, they will work strategically to determine whether it makes sense for them to bid first or wait for somebody else to start the bidding”
Sid….. exactly what I did
Hi Add
Thanks ….. got something similar a couple of days back
“Its worth reading them just for the smile they bring”
Whatever floats your boat I guess
Hi Pad …. Precisely
Hope all good
Bozi …… pretty much agree with all of that
Eloro
I’m fairly certain BHP would be far worse.
Scott had a lot to put right and it takes time. Voting him out would be utterly stupid IMO Let’s see what fruit his work may bear in the coming few months.
Yep …. And they’re not giving anyone any reason to buy either
Agreed Fort re this price suiting some.
It does render the 100m+ CGP shares way less effective.
Hence Scott’s comments and other speculation re potential offtake deals
Hi Red
Us being the exception to the rule seems to be a recurring theme
“Growing opposition to extractive activities in the past two years, the country’s Chamber of Mining has highlighted, is blocking nearly $1 billion in potential investment and 100 projects for the next two years.
An exception is SolGold’s (LON: SOLG) Cascabel copper-gold project, which was granted in July a 25-year license renewal”
Merger in Ecuador (Adventus & Luminex)
Nice mention for us at the end too
