There is also usually a significant premium for control. All us minnows can do is buy a few thousand shares here and there and then whinge when the company isn’t run the way we think it should be. What value for control? SOTP calc’s consistently come in at greater than £2 per share (which I believe is conservative in “normal” times) and SOTP would just be the most basic option for a buyer with control. No wonder MM notes they are constantly fending off bids.
Don’t know, don’t care, neither should you.
Companies are usually bought and sold based on (a) their current net assets adjusted to remove any junk, (b) consideration of their FUTURE prospects, discounted in some way to reflect risk/uncertainty, cost of capital, etc., (c) the value of any FUTURE synergies post acquisition, discounted in some way to reflect risk of non-execution, cost of capital, etc.
Comparison of historical results between THG and HOTC doesn’t add much IMO.
Anyway, the question you posed was whether “everything that is currently known about a share is reflected in the share price” is true, which is farcical as efficient markets do not & probably cannot exist.
Pretty sure Kim Jong-Un is due to show up and call us all bedwetters fairly soon?
Agree with KYK anyway, share price bounces around for all sorts of reasons, most of which are completely indiscernible to a simpleton like me. I’ve held from £6 (tiny holding) all the way through 32p (larger holding) to where we are now. I’ve been at break even multiple times, and have been in profit a couple of times. Despite all of this I’m yet to sell a share - I’m convinced the moment I do will be the start of a meaningful recovery to somewhere near FV and I’ll have missed the boat for good. I can’t wrap my head around the current low valuation but it’s been a great opportunity to continue to get my average down and I’m convinced the company has a bright future once the dark clouds of the macro begin to clear.
Each to their own of course & NIA
$36m e-commerce sales via “biossance.com” as per AS1’s link. They also e-tail out of LOOKFANTASTIC, Cult Beauty, Harrods.com, Selfridges.com, SpaceNK, Sephora, Amazon, etc. They are sell out of numerous physical outlets as per a recent annual report. Total annual turnover likely to be significantly over $100m assuming $36m annual turnover out of “biossance.com” is accurate. Access to IP is also compelling as per Yorek. What a buy!
Yesterday & this morning have been intensely boring, barely anything traded. Despite all of the Wild Kong angst, no one is particularly selling, nor does anyone seem particularly willing to buy.
Where are all those shorts to provide us with liquidity and price discovery?
