If they do not seal a deal this time the compant will be dead in the water

Hi Spike agreed, and I am not putting a date to it, I just think the suitors legal team is being diligent in making sure they are protecting the exclusivity, after all to date they have paid $750k

The extension just confirms they are still doing DD, they could complete today/tomorrow or in a couple of months...or heaven forbid not complete, a formal extension protects the suitors exclusivity even if only for a day
