The good news is on the JSE the big sellers seem to have disappeared.

It is not the copper price still nearly $9600 per ton or the PGM 'S ( Platinum $973) that are the problem as both are doing fine compared were some months ago it is without doubt panicky shareholders who have not heard any news. Like you I believe it is a buying opportunity but as you have said investors who panic tend to buy at the top and sell at the bottom

They do not have the b.... to be investors. I still believe that the board should have issued some sort of news , as it is the duty of the company to keep shareholders up to date with what is happening when the company is growing at the speed the directors are quick to tell us is breathtaking,.Even Momentum have told their clients if Jubilee achieves just half of what has been promised it is grossly under valued.

The shares in South Africa are all flying except Jubilee down nearly 6% . Surely the board can see the need to give us news of progress unless as I said they are in negotiations and are sworn to secrecy . Perhaps I should be buying but previous experience of terrible communication suggest maybe not

What is worse is that I sent an email to the company asking if ANYONE on the board realized that the silence on progress being made was the reason for the drop in the share price and I have received no reply.

I hope that the negotiations that they might be in is the reason for the silence in which case I will forgive the board but otherwise I agree with you that they fail to understand that the silence is causing some shareholders to equate the silence with problems and are selling out.Time will tell

I agree that the coalitions now formed in South Africa is not only good for Jubilee but importantly for South Africa..

I expect that once realization hits, South African shares will improve dramatically from the lows caused by fears that the two anti business parties would keep South Africa on a death spiral . It is a HUGE plus for South Africa and I expect relations with Western countries to normalize. As can be seen with bonds I expect there will now be more monies invested in South Africa .The outflow should stop. It is the first sensible decision taken by the ANC.

Maybe the Jubilee board could take a lesson and TRY to improve communications,

Momentum who are huge in South Africa have put out a buy recommendation for Jublee shares. Their closing comment is : If Jubilee is going to achieve only half of what has been promised there is no doubt that there is considerable value in the share and recommend increasing your holding although the market will take a seeing is believing approach

I can feel your frustration as I feel the same. If there were problems the board are duty bound to issue an RNS.As one has not been issued I am more frustrated than worried . One thing I am sure of is that institutions (like Slater) know what is going on and who knows maybe they have asked Leon to hold back with the RNS giving them a chance to pick up shares at a lower price from other frustrated shareholders.While I personally would never be part of such an arrangement it is not illegal and happens in business so my suggestion is wait and see. I do agree that the bad communication MUST be brought up at the AGM.

Lets face it .The board has no idea that bad communication is no friend of the share price. Lack of communication is always negative as shareholders associate the lack thereof as problematical especially given previous experience.

HOWEVER My feeling is that if there was a problem ,the duty to RNS was even more important so I believe the train has not left the rails. It is however the duty of all shareholders to take up better communication with the board at the AGM

I hope for the best but fear the worst.From what I have picked up the ANC while they are saying the need to take into account the will of the people will not go into coalition with the Democratic Alliance. My only hope they exclude the MK party and EFF from the coalition or else South Africa will not recover. There are some smaller parties that could join the coalition (the IFP ,Action , African Christian party, Patriotic Alliance) that could bring the coalition to over 50%..They all have better brains than the ANC so if they went into the coalition it would constitute a great improvement. I don't think Jubilee will be impacted as they provide foreign currency taxation and jobs and as long as MK & EFF have no say South Africa has a chance

The South African Election has given South Africa a chance if only the ANC realize that they can't go into a coalition with the EFF or the new Zuma party who in their manifesto's have openly said they want to change the constitution as well as nationalize banks and mines. If there is a brain anywhere in the ANC they have to understand that a coalition with either of those parties will mean economic death of South Africa with NO jobs & no investment.

They have said that they must listen to what the people of South Africa want (about 75% anyway) which is obviously more investment and more jobs .There is now some hope IF the ANC really want to HELP their people

I hope for the best but fear for the worst. 3 parties whose polices will ensure that South Africa becomes a failed state are likely to pick up 60% of the vote and a coalition between any of the three will make South Africa non investible. If a sensible coalition is formed there is some hope for the country.

I just explained in my previous post. Jubilee get 30% of the total selling price while IRH get 70% after subtracting the cost of production not exactly a 70-30 split

Investors have not yet worked out that the great the J/V with IRH is .Yes Jubilee only receive 30% of the profits but it has cost them nothing as they have recovered ALL their costs

It is difficult to work out who is better off IRH 70% but paying all costs or Jubilee 30% at no cost.

Yes I too will be disappointed if Jubilee have not reached 100000 tons in 3 years time

I totally agree with your thoughts. I don't believe copper will go to $40000 a ton. Irrespective of the price (now just above $10200 per ton) it is how many tons of copper Jubilee will produce that will determine the share price .Even at today's prices Jubilee will become a brilliantly wealthy company if the promises made on production is achieved< rather then worry about the price of copper it is production that will determine just how big a company Jubilee will become.

I continue to await an RNS which confirms meaningful copper production is being achieved.

All of us LTH that expect a RNS should take the following into account.

The failure of previous RNS's to admit to the problems that Jubilee was having with load shedding and water problems in Zambia was a situation that the chairman admitted was a mistake. That mistake hopefully will never be repeated and I then can understand why the company will not issue a RNS until there is a certainty that the company can report actual and meaningful copper production. If that is the case then the company has learned that to under promise and over produce is the way to go and not vice versa.At this stage I am happy to give management more time to prove that they are a high growth company.
