RE: why is nobody talking about antibody testing with vaccines9 Jan 2021 06:33
My mother in law ( mid 80s with health issues) had her second Pfizer covid vaccination yesterday in Leicester
and just as when she had the first one my wife asked the staff on duty will there be a follow up antibody test ?
Again they looked a little sheepish and again they said “ no we’re not “
So obviously the problem here is , if immunity levels are not tested following the vaccination, especially with the very old is that people who want their lives back may not be protected at all !?
And leads to a false sense of security.
It begs the question why the government is not pursuing this ? Is it a case of “ oh well they had the vaccination, and some it didn’t work , that’s life !?
I for one would pay for a antibody test , so unless the antibody testing is rolled out in a small scale in the U.K. we can only hope other countries take us up on it , or generate private sales to the public.
My thinking now is that we will do very well with ODX and antigen lft ( airport, cruise ships , schools , business, and individuals who want to know their own results)
A lot of demand out there ,
As I said before regardless of having a vaccination or even having antibodies in your system people will all have to take a test to fly ( because of asymptomatic cases )
So for example the multi billion pound cruise industry which at present is on its knees will be crying out for a good antigen lft , example a cruise ship with 6000 passengers all testing daily or at least when reboarding the ship following a shore excursion etc
Or large resort hotels ( all inclusive ) remember them ?
People mingling etc
So with all the variants of covid, testing is here to stay , and where the vaccination fails in the older generation that is where
treatments like sng001 will come into there own glad I kept a little holding there .
