RE: Moroccan news article !!!22 Jul 2025 15:20
Another very interesting article yesterday by lareleve.ma who often cover PRD. Discusses Mou-3 A sands tests a CNG monetisation, future 3D seismic plans & even mentions connections to Nador LNG terminal & PRD's Irish LNG floating storage strategy !!!

July 21, 2025, marks a strategic turning point for Morocco with the launch of natural gas extraction test operations in the Guercif region.
For ten days, a British company specializing in energy exploration is conducting tests on the sandy "A" reservoir, identified as rich in biogenic gas, a clean, renewable, and rapidly exploitable energy source.
This operation relies on innovative techniques, allowing tests to be carried out without a conventional drilling rig, significantly reducing costs while accelerating completion times.
The MOU-3 well, drilled in close proximity to the Maghreb-Europe (GME) pipeline, is part of a vision of direct commercialization via compressed natural gas (CNG), with strong expectations for rapid profitability and the mobilization of investments in local infrastructure.
The results obtained will confirm the site's commercial value and plan for accelerated monetization.
At the same time, the geophysical studies launched under the Guercif permit also pave the way for the exploitation of helium pockets, a strategic gas with high added value.
Furthermore, participation is being considered in the Nador West Med gas terminal project, with the possibility of adapting the floating terminal model developed in Ireland, thus strengthening Morocco's energy sovereignty.
This project positions the Kingdom as a key player in the regional energy transition, while attracting cutting-edge technological investments. This is a clear demonstration that Morocco's subsoil can become a source of sustainable wealth serving the nation.
