Tricky its not just nickel supply for batteries that is constraining Teslas Semi. The vehicle will require a very efficient very large battery and there is a shortage of battery supply capacity there just are not enough batteries and Teslas own battery plant is still being optimised. Essentially would you produce one truck at $250,000 to $300,000 each or 7 to 10 cars (when you can sell them all quickly) at £50,000 to $75,000 each.

This is a really interesting short presentation about where electrification in public transport is going and proof positive for the naysayers that it can be done. Hopefully a lot of Horizonte nickel will be helping it along,

Don't hold your breath on this there is far too little information and what information there is is not that wonderful. The batteries retain 91% of charge after 100 cycles no where near good enough for EVs and even if it was perfected today it will take anything up to five years to commercialise.

What has been revealed is all well and good but there are other considerations that need to looked how does the process affect battery degradation? How often can the batteries be cycled? How much does it cost? Looking at just one aspect of the battery and performance does not tell the whole story.

I have just watched this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hhrqj2kO9MU the latest in a series of deep dives into Tesla battery technology it offers something of interest about Tesla and gives an indication of where they may be headed with battery technology and its not a 100% nickel based cathodes fortunately there is also a very good case for high nickel cathode batteries which will still be needed at large scale. There is a some very well reasoned speculation and future gazing on where Tesla will be going with batteries and why

You are missing the point of course the Chinese have a view of Teslas IP Tesla has an enormous factory in Shanghai and Tesla open sources all its patents - for free to be used in good faith. Share price is what it is and Mr Musk could not care less what the share price is he has around 20 billion dollars in the coffers to fund company growth for years; and whereas Mercedes Benz is a mature player all the really big efficiencies in ICE vehicles have been made. Tesla is still innovating, still driving down costs, still improving and will continue to do so within at most five years all Mercedes Benz (and most of the legacy car industry) will have is a lot of very big stranded assets what is plainly ridiculous is that you cannot see it.

I see you get it. The shorts have no idea they do not do the research and they completely fail to engage brain and see where the world is going at an increasingly fast pace but more importantly how it is going to get there and who is going to get it done.

A bit of sandbagging from Elon. Teslas standard range in China use the Lithium Ferrous Phosphate chemistry however all the long range and performance vehicles use high Nickel batteries and there is more. Tesla has developed (is still tweaking / perfecting) its own 46/80 high Nickel cells being made in its Kato Road facility for use in all vehicles where high performance high density and lower weight is important.

Where do you get Tesla sales down in US China and Europe from?
Being a bear are you are selectively choosing market share with actual sales? If so then you would be correct but only because their are now other manufacturers entering the market and the market is much larger.
For all the musketeers and supporters Tesla only has 11 days inventory and sells all the cars it can make (and it is making more every quarter) and all without any dealerships or advertising.

Its not just EV stocks its pretty much all Tech stocks. It is the market realising that Covid is done and almost dusted in the US and here just a few more weeks and everything will be well on the way back to the new normal. IMO the world will have to realign there will be a lot fewer bricks and mortar retailers less possibly a lot less business travel probably fewer cinemas and theatres cafes and restaurants at least in the short term. Joe Biden has hit the ground running and intends to re-orientate the US into much cleaner and greener energy and update old and failing infrastructure all of which is good for Tesla and the infrastructure construction industries.
We all know who is telling the porkies on this board I am sure we would have noticed if 22% of the company was sold (Elons holdings).
