"Whilst I think a big raise on the cards, I also think they’ll do it on the back of some good news "
Adw, worth noting that brokers always look at the average price over quite a period of time when setting the raise price. This was queried with MB when he did his February 2023 raise. The SP was around 5.5p and they dropped the raise in at 3p, so a 45% discount. When shareholders asked why such a discount, he was told the brokers didn't look at the SP at that momen5t in time, but over a period beforehand. Presumably so a company can't pump it's SP pre raise.
So, even if there is good news and this somehow spikes to 3p, the discount could still be brutal. Again it's just a guess, but MB has to gamble that H1 production is significantly boosted along with some other excellent news, maybe stabilise the SP far north of here for a few months, then drop in the raise. If they have to beg, steal and borrow in the meantime, so be it. But a raise right now at a similar 45% discount... 0.7p and a billion more shares. No coming back from that for a LTH.
