the past performance i am talking about was the great run up to the special last year when bdev put on about one pound in 4 weeks we will do well to put on 30p this year

kd37 it actually held up quite well last year the fall was gradual in fact it was trading above 600p january 30 2018 that was the last time it traded above 600p about 8 months ago but the mistake i and a great many other people have made is relying on past performance which is not guaranteed to repeat itself

i agree kd47 a deeply dissapointing day to only pick up 4p on the back of a17p fall on friday and a 2p fall yesterday only 11 days to go to ex dividend and i can only see this going to 575p maybe 580p max over a pound less than last special ex dividend also very low volume today

to be honest tom that is a pathetic rise when it fell by 17p on friday 2p on monday to then pick up about 5p it is quite pathetic i really should have sold out on friday morning when they got to 578p but how was i to know that the arch remainer may was going to hold a speech at downing st difficult to see these getting to that price 578 again ex dividend october 10 my plan is to sell all whatever the price my guess is it will sneak past 575p but at least it is great news for tw holders i expect it to go past 173 in the next couple of days so making up for fridays fall

what i dont understand is that buys outnumber sells on bdev by about 200000 shares today surely the rise has got to be greater than about 4p to 5p unless the market makers are deliberately holding back the share price

hello tom great rise today for tw going up twice as fast as bdev today also the fall was less than bdev on friday should have stuck with these

mark i am talking about the big three builders persimmon bdev taylor wimpey as you know myself and nige sold out of tw to hopefully capitilise on the pre divedend rise which has not materialised we would have actually been better of staying in tw bdev was the worst performing builder of the big three on friday by a long way when we had the big fall it is also the worst performing builder today of the big three sometimes the truth hurts i have accepted that there is not going to be the pre dividend rise to above 600p as you and a few other people expect maybe you will have to accept this as well

worst performing builder today again tw outperforming bdev again difficult to see this hitting 580p before october 10 there is not going to be a pre dividend rise this year

okay mark my prediction is 575p on oct 10 yours is much higher above the 600p level let us see who is closest then

hi tom i was just replying to your comment hope you all done well today when as you know all the housebuilders fell in response to the remainer mays speech in the afternoon and yes bdev was the worst performing builder if you readily accept that fall is normal then maybe you will have to accept the fact that you will not get your money back or at least it will be a very long frustrating wait to get to your buy in price

i agree nige at the current share price the dividend is over six per cent something has to give i fully expect the fat cats to pile in for the dividend in the coming days but also there is going to be a lot of selling by the smaller investors concerned about a no deal brexit but i still stick with my prediction that we will not even hit 590p that is a full 50p short of your best case scenario of 640p i am also concerned that bdev was the worst perforning builder on friday that hastily arranged speech by may the remainer knocked about 150 million pounds from the value of bdev and caused the pound to fall all because she wanted to look strong ahead of the party conference

we are 145pence lower than the peak pre dividend price of 705p 2017 that is twenty per cent lower at this price every worst case scenario must be baked into the share price i would expect a recovery of at least ten pence by end of friday next week

hi tom have you checked the price of the housebuilders lol

i think we we can safely assume that the pre dividend rise is now dead there is no way these will go anywhere near 590 let alone 600p

a lot of people are buying barratt just recently for the supposed pre dividend rise small players and big players alike myself included and who have no intention of holding these long term as if a no deal brexit is confirmed then the housebuilders will get really hammered i also find it strange that the housebuilders were hammered but not the banks

the lowest it has been in the last couple of weeks was about 535

are you not confusing this share wuth another i would have loved to have bought bdev at 153 a couple of weeks ago lol

nobody could have predicted the fall like we had this afternoon wkworld i thought a no deal brexit and slowing house price inflation was already factored into the share price

taylor wimpey outperforming bdev again today the pre dividend rise is not going to happen this year

looks like those who are predicting the share price to reach 640p and 650p before ex dividend may need to think again the housebuilders share price is a political football very volatile sector to be in at the moment
