That is my thinking karv that we are past the peak of infections in the UK and Europe
and a vaccine will be found maybe 12 months so find it very strange that Aviva is going down again but other shares like the builders are going up

You are probably right karv the more you look the more depressed you get it is okay on up days but you don't get many with aviva just praying that the update will be good as this share is on a downtrend at the moment but worried it could slide sub 220p by then

Very tempted to throw in the towel at 231p to protect losses

Thanks for that spikey j I am in at a high average with aviva and have a substantial holding so I feel I have to hold on for better times which may never come with aviva as my many posts suggest I just wish I had taken some of my own advice which has proved to be mostly correct that the stock is unloved by the market and on a downtrend to at least sell and buy back at a lower price which there have been plenty of opportunities to do so in the last few weeks will just have to wait for the update which aviva may do so at the same time as the AGM on May26 how convenient for the board that it will be a virtual agm

More chance winning something from these scratchcards than aviva going up

Ftse100 up or down makes no difference chances are aviva will be down

Still probably have a bad day usually the case with aviva

Dow futures down looking at a bad day tomorrow aviva did not rise when the dow had a great run but sure will follow the dow when it has a bad day

There are a number of private investors with significant holdings I am quite sure a significant number will have exited with large losses

Legal and general were under the same pressure to suspend the dividend they paid the dividend aviva could have afforded to pay the dividend no danger of them going bankrupt

The share price performance since the results has not been great if you are a trader which you might be golden shares then you will be happy because it only goes so far up then retraces it is becoming predicatable it is how you deal with a crisis that sorts out the men from the boys and tulloch and montague are boys who are presiding over the shambles that is aviva at the moment the view is split at the moment 50 50 on this chatroom those in favour of the board those against but we will know more on the update in may to see how the market reacts to it

Caddy the dividends do not make up for the loss in capital value over the last 5 years 4 years 3 years 2 years 1year the 31p dividend is cancelled for this year relying on a special dividend in q4 even that is not guaranteed what happens if the pra applies pressure on the board again then we just know they will just roll over like an obedient dog

Golden shares the last set of results were great but had little effect on share price since then first week of March till now share price has lost about 1.20p a share that I believe is a combination of coranavirus worries and lack of faith in current management this feeling was justified in the cancellation of the dividend under pressure by the pra which legal and general did not bow to also lack of an update on coranavirus just adds to the feeling of despair by a lot of shareholders myself included we have to wait till second half of may at the moment just a gamble whether the update will be good or bad general doom and gloom about the general state of the economy is not helping this situation is unprecedented and I suspect it will take a minimum of 4 years to get to a decent economy where Aviva can start paying decent dividends until then the divided if we are lucky to get one will be rebased the posters who are expecting the full 31 pence to be paid this year are deluded

The institutional investors need to apply pressure on this totally inept board to change things unless they are happy with the abject share price performance I suspect the old boys network means they will let the present situation continue

BUGEROV the problem will be when a vaccine is eventually produced supply will outstrip demand so naturally the country that first produces it when be supplying it's own population first

Risking it we will see who is right when the vaccine is developed but no guarantees the vaccine will be successful and I still think it will be everyman for himself when and if it is developed

I am not the only one not happy with aviva the sentiment on this chatroom has changed of course there are the odd few like you here's hopin who are happy with the mismanagement of aviva presided over by the board of aviva in particular tulloch and Montague and who are accepting of the situation people like you here's hopin are bottom lickers

Karv sorry to burst your bubble there is no guarantee that a vaccine for the coranavirus will be found even if it is then basically the whole population of the world will have to get vaccinated which will be difficult as the country that finds the vaccine will keep it for themselves
