Yanks seem to think UK on cusp of mortgage/bad debt disaster. Obsessed with idea that about a third of mortgages need to be renegotiated in next few years and with rising interest rates, many people will be unable to meet necessary criteria, have to sell, falling property prices, rising bad debts et al. Time too buy NWG IMO

Agree that CS credibility is well past its sell by date, their recommendation smells worse than swiss cheese and is clearly just as full of holes. However, another bank rumoured at one stage to be next in line in the falling dominos game has just reiterated BUY 575
PE approaching single digits, trading at 40% fair value, and earnings forecast to increase over 100% annually. Too many contradictions here. Either bargain of century or bad news coming.
Thoughts ? Several IMO BS articles recently about upcoming mortgage crisis as no less than half of NWG loans are mortgages.
Almost third of mortages complete and need refinancing within next few years but increase in valuations/falling wages/rising living costs will mean that many borrowers may fail to refinance as their mortgage comes due.
In brief, significant loan loss in mortgage portfolio could wipe out NWG equity value. NIMs going down as deposit rates rise. Apart from that, everything is Rosie, the £5.3m girl ...

How dare you sully the fine name of Barclays with regards to dividend payments ! I can personally testify that for some shares (Keller), payments were a mere 3 weeks (yes weeks) late. Explanation being that KLR paid them wrong amount ... And yes, I still have not received my GSK dividend. Off to the food bank ...
