BTRW just bought site for 90+ houses in Sussex from land promoter. This after a complex five year planning process, which included two separate Public Inquiries by the Planning Inspectorate. They needed to prove water neutrality, gulp. IMO Labour will be long gone before any of their promised new housing even gets past the planning consent stage.

Results yesterday revealed yearly sales edged higher as consumers prioritised experiences, but 2025 got off to a slow start in spite of demand boost from rugby and Crufts. Revenues remain above £1 billion in 2024, rising slightly by 0.1% over the year. Occupancy slightly up, revenue per room slightly down. Looking forward, encouraged by long lead time event demand with more events in 2025 than 2024. Guess we will see something similar from WTB shortly ...

Have hedged their 3.5bill BP punt by shorting Shell (850mill), Total and Repsol, presumably as protection against the oil sector tanking. Theory sounds good but shorting Shell after latter announced measures to close valuation gap with US rivals ? Mmm...
