That is a real possibility. I refer back to my earliest posts when I said we should be using Sabatier and Haber-Bosch with Green H2. As you have said many times before, there is no technological moat for ITM and so there has always been a threat from Chinese manufacture.

One could hope that the RealPolitik of the economic vandalism attempted at steel works and industrial weakening, would bring our civil servants to their senses but I very much doubt it. The wilful destruction of Port Talbot capabilities and refusal to switch those blast furnaces to H2 as the reducing gas to make raw Iron show the lack of intelligence and foresight (as I said before).

Geopolitical instability ought to be creating a realisation that certain industries need to be domestically supported but again I doubt it. Our civil servants have shown they are in thrall to the economic dogma of the treasury and incapable of pricing for security, environmental impact or social cohesion. The obsession with out of season, low cost food, being a prime example. We'd rather import cheap tomatoes from southern Spain in winter and Netherlands in summer, than grow domestically. I worked in my youth at a tomato farm which went out of business over 20 years ago because of cheap food imports.

The £6.5 Billion proposal for HySpeed is a prime example of the exasperation with the short-sightedness and glacial pace of the Government.

As I said before, they need to get on with it, HAR2 allocation being a prime example 27 projects short-listed that now need to spend probably another year justifying why the Government should provide funds. That is a pointless delay.

ITM are still in a good position at the moment but that could quickly be eroded if China shifts.

Not sure why you chose to drag me into this - but if you recall, I said and I am precising "no, it won't, there's no reason for it to US is not target market and Europe has got the message that it can't rely on external sources of FF". I also said and again summarising for brevity "the market will panic and shed loads, then it will recover"

But I take the point, I just meant I don't get exercised by ITM shorters being there or not on a day-to-day basis, yes, when they give up their assault will be a red letter day particularly Helikon and hopefully signs of shifting sentiment. And certainly, if they time it wrong and the sentiment shifts before they exit and they get squeezed, I certainly won't shed a tear. But if ifs and buts were pots and pans and all that...

I remain firmly in the camp of "I don't care what the shorts are doing" - having said that, though, the SP seems to be holding up well at the 25p support level, and one might have thought that would get shattered today, so if the shorts were to cash out now they wouldn't be any better off than if they'd done it a few weeks ago. So on that basis and with the continuing low volume (although we are almost at the average day volume today already) I don't see them jumping.

My view, unless one has already sold, it is too late now, just banking a loss. It will recover over the long term so might as well suck it up. Fortunately, I did sell some tracker funds heavily weighted to US tech stocks a month or so ago, because as I said at the time, I thought they were looking a bit bubbly (I really did post that awhile back). Unfortunately some of my other funds have now taken a hammering, just got to wait until the panic is over with those. Very tricky to time getting out and then back in correctly.

Nicely presented figures which would suggest at least 4 years runway (although the guidance update suggested it was better than that) which would see them through to the next administration in the US.

Plenty of time for the sentiment shift to strengthen more in the EU and start to turn into more orders and actually a positive cashflow, which if it materialised, would be nice.

The declines from 2021 have been discussed ad nauseam, I don't think anyone disagrees that there were issues in the company, from sales management, product specification, marketing, expectation management, cash-flow management etc. To keep harping back to it to justify a position today is illogical, the company structure, pipeline, quality, customer acceptance feedback has changed significantly. You can have the opinion that it is not sufficient by all means, the same as others can have the opinion that they have seen the transformation they needed.

The US market and the actions of the US are not the prime focus of ITM but do have negative impacts on the Hydrogen market sentiment, that has been priced in. However, there is a persistent lack of recognition that the EU Governmental sentiment has dramatically shifted, Germany, Scandinavia, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Netherlands are all driving forward, Cyprus, Croatia are exploring and in UK, HAR1 funds are seemingly on the way, presumably with HAR2 en-route. ITM is positioned to take advantage of the EU improving sentiment.

Australia is lagging, agreed but Japan has taken strides as has South Korea and there is shifting sentiment across India, Asia and South America, what impact that will have is less clear, might lead to more competition rather than more opportunities.

I don't know (or have a burning desire to understand) your investment strategy or horizon but mine is not short term, therefore I consider overall upside is better than downside here over the longer term. If you don't that is your prerogative. Spamming that investors here are deluded and on a hiding to nothing, may well be your belief but is not a constructive debate.

For the record, I have no idea why Polar Capital chose to divest 260,000 shares at what must have been a sizable loss but perhaps they needed to offset a profit elsewhere in their accounts or perhaps they had a corporate shindig to pay for? I am certain, however, that you don't know why they did either, just opinion and insinuation.

@Troublesome, I'm old school a Billion was a Million Million when I studied maths but you're right under US math - it would have been a Trillion making it even more nonsense. Which I see, Spicy has still not grasped but never mind, I guess. Maybe the heat in Bali is a bit high.

This is utter drivel. 1.8 Billion shares against a total float of 616.68 Million? So every share has been sold 3x? (when it clearly hasn't, just go look at the declared holders).

Over your timespan 18,637,231 shares were sold - so if I generously assume you actually meant 1.8 million shares were sold rather than bought (on a rather dodgy metric) that is 10% of total transactions. Of in total 3% of the float over the period, so 0.3% more sells (if you believe the sell/buy indicator, which no-one does). Hardly a mass exodus.
