@JTyler91 - I also did @194.216 - I have often opined on here about understanding charting and market mechanics to protect one's investment. If the short-term buying pressure being released causes a temporary pullback, I shall buy some more. People just paid almost 220p for good reason - this is an amazing company and an amazing investment.

@stayingpatient and @Hedge101 thank you both for detailing the mechanics of what I had posited in my layperson's terms - it is good to know I was almost right.

I don't know exactly how this kind of thing works - but the announcement to MSCI entry was on May 12th so since then or May 13th the funds have all known they need to buy the shares by cop today (and not before by the own rules - or indeed after, technically). On May 13th opened at 157.4 and high point since then was 219.8 - the mid-point for that is 188.6.

My assumption is that from May 13th the funds committed to buy the shares from the MMs and the MMs offered them a fixed price for the deal. 194.4. If I'm right the MMs managed to buy the shares over the last 2 weeks in a controlled fashion to make a small profit to prevent the funds all trying to buy the shares Monday morning and causing a brief solar storm to £10 and frying the market.

But I could be wrong.

@Eastwood out of curiosity what was todays open? LSE here has it as 216, google and yahoo have it as 197?

What is absolutely for sure is that people were more than happy to pay 219.8p for ITM shares - reminds me of last June when hit the highs of 94p and 98p (at the time) and then pulled back - as soon as the good news of the Gov't stake and Rheinmetall came, it rallied back to that in no time from 60p and blew threw and left it in the dust.

@wyndrum - please fasten your seatbelt and ensure your traytable is in its upright and locked position

@wookieemonster - the amount of effort they were putting in sub 50p makes it all the more bizarre that they waited until now to exit - the profit left on the table is truly staggering - I can't see any hedge mechanism that justifies that (especially as they clearly weren't hedging their profit by buying options on the way down)

Indeed - even the 40p and 30p range holdings I got have done well - I didn't get in the 20s as I'd already used available funds and had a pressing need for the other funds I had at the time so couldn't risk it then. But very happy with where I got too in any case - just need to hit my original buy in price £3.46 now.

Wow - never want to see a business fail - particularly as a result of what sounds like a "plugged it in and it went bang" type situation - all that hard work the team will have put into it to get it built and shipped - gutting for them

@IKFA I hope no-one has ever been influenced by comments - one way or the other. This is a forum for ppl to exchange thoughts and have conversations - which is what made last year so frustrating when the board was being constantly derailed. There's no more than 20 regular posters and maybe 100 lurkers who read but rarely if ever post here, anyone who thinks that number of ppl on a forum can influence a share price needs to give their head a wobble (unless the ppl are all with pots the size of Bilbo's but in which case I don't think he is influenced by anyone). If people ask for advice for how to manage risk, that's one reason for being here. But everyone should be guided by their risk appetite. Sell or do not sell, buy or do not buy, personal choice.

None of the shorts we know about reduced yesterday - yet the price rose - the rise today has been sustained, if they held their nerve during yesterday's rise did they break today?

@n3dsd the £80m comes in 2 parts - £40m for the 10+% shareholding has already been recognised in the cash position in the updated guidance - the 2nd part £46.5 grant is to be paid (quarterly I think) in arrears on proof of spend on the automated Chrono line build

@DaveHughes they have been re-cycling the same story for a month with varying angles depending on whether the share price has risen or dropped on the day they published it - not entirely sure of the agenda but I'd put it up there alongside the Motley Fool
