Likewise @wookieemonster - 1st May the SP was 162.4 over the last month there's been a low at close of 150.9 and high close of 209.2 and a recent high of 219.8. Or in other words it is 30p higher than it was at the beginning of May and people were prepared to pay 30p more than it currently is within the month. That's a pretty bullish state of play. Yet some would have us panic of a drop of a few pence.

They shouldn't take up stand-up, they'd have no chance on the comedy circuit.

Well the small cap funds didn't have a choice - but I take you point - that has locked up even more of the available shares, along with the Gov't stake,Linde, JCB et al - the shares available to the shorts to close out before the next leg-up are getting less and less. As soon as that first Alpha50 or Hydropulse contract lands this looking at another tripling re-rate. None of the shorters will be able to hold through that, that one will burn them out. And it is only a matter of time when it comes now.

@Miiiiiiiiiiike - I don't think any LTH are panicking over a piddly 4% drop after a 300% rise - there is just one poster claiming the sky is falling...

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Looks like the shorts have miscalculated. The MMs have shaken out all the weak holders buying for the MSCI funds. Shorts drop a million shares and the market starts buying again. They better go borrow another million shares to try again but remember, they will have to buy them back or risk the good news for the next leg-up. That news is just around the corner as we all know.

@bilboburgler - it is an interesting board for a non-market day, let's put it that way. I long for a contract RNS on a Monday (any Monday) just one, as the exception to prove the rule.

So if you want advice on the share price, better ask Nobody.

You could take a look at the RNS to form an opinion on the news flow - my impression is that some form of contract announcement (FEED, reservation, notice to start, FID, service agreement, collaboration) tends to come on average every 6 weeks.

Not sure why you mention hype, none of this rise is hype in my view, it has been a rally on the positives of Government investment and grant to build out the Chrono assembly line (FID on that due this month with confirmation of the Grant) - with speculators/arbitrageurs getting involved to make some money out of the Index Funds forced buy that came on Friday with MSCI entry.

There were lots of macro reasons for asset bubbles of all types in 2021 - I'll let others comment on that I didn't arrive until 2022

For the GEIS entry I guess the profile of impact may be slightly different as there is longer from notice to entry? If I understood @Eastwood correctly the decision point is end of June but entry would be September?

Lol @seaangler yeah I'll hold my hands up for that error - I was 80% right - got the cause and effect right (after the event) but the exact mechanism slightly wrong.

I guess there is no way of knowing what happens on Monday - did the arbitrageurs get it right or overbuy (did they pay too much - someone was paying over £2 happily and got 194.4 in UT) will they hold, will they sell? Who knows. How much residual buying pressure is there off the back of all the positive developments? How much have the shorts got left and what price do they want to pay before being forced out? Is the next major positive announcement coming soon (Protium with Cromarty must be close - they wouldn't buy it to sit on it long). HAR2 decisions. Hydrogen strategy (call for evidence on electrolysers now out).

We will find out on Monday - I have managed to sell some poor performing investments (in the sense of stopped growing) to free up a slush fund if it drops.

@seaangler, Hedge101 explained it well, the price wasn't pre-agreed. Following the announcement, hedge funds and other traders as well as the mms will have been mopping up shares that they estimate will be needed by the funds when they submit their requests on the official entry (cop yesterday) - they then submit their bids in to the auction and the hedgies and other traders offer the shares and the auction matches them. What that means though is that there will undoubtedly be a stock of shares now held by hedge funds/traders that weren't required by the funds. It depends what they do with them, whether they sold them to the mms in the auction or didn't.
