The electoral commission has been the only organisation that has done its job thoroughly and speedily and was guaranteed to be ready for any timeline between December and June…..that is still current,the July charter is coming down the tracks like a train and NCP/jamaat will be dragged along kicking and screaming as basic reforms get pencilled in……then at the end of summer I think they will fix an exact date……

The bnp 2030 plan I posted other night is predicting demand for lecky to be around 35000mw by 2030……the demand in this article is around 15000mw and the system is struggling…….this is why Bangla needs an energy plan to pummel those domestic resources…….no energy no growth

In order to end prevailing power and energy deficit and ensure long term energy security, a well- coordinated national energy policy will be adopted and short, medium, and long term plans shall be taken up for its implementation. Least-cost generation plan shall be adopted. Correct and balanced energy- mix shall be ensured. Energy source will be diversified. Use of energy efficient electricity will be ensured and quality electricity shall be provided at cheaper and reasonable cost. Energy- auditing system will be introduced for the households, mills and factories and for power and energy users at Government and private sectors. Incentives shall be given for use of energy-efficient equipment, machineries and vehicles.

Energy Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan today said that local gas production is decreasing by about 200 million cubic feet (MMCFD) every year. At the same time, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) imports are being increased. He also clearly said that the government will not provide new gas connections to households. Report BSS

 

"There is no possibility of providing gas connections to residences. If I had the opportunity, I would have turned off the gas connections to all houses in Dhaka," he made the remarks responding to a question after visiting Kailashtila-7 and Sylhet-10 gas wells at Golapganj Upazila in Sylhet.
