Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman, accompanied by his spouse, paid a courtesy call on President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban on Saturday on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

During the meeting, they exchanged Eid greetings and conveyed best wishes for mutual well-being, according to the Bangladesh Army.

Earlier, the army chief met with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Basically mirroring the army stance on sovereign assets not being given to foreign entities……..bnp is all for international investors as stated in its 31 point plan but it draws the line on ports….

More telling is the statement from this advisor that they are ready to move at a moment’s notice to protect the country from these outside influences

Bnp having none of it ……I really don’t blame them,Yunus has no mandate to alter the country’s constitution and an incoming govt has no obligation to adhere to a constitution formed under an interim govt so in effect the cuckoo govt is winging it!

Though Yunus has declared that an election will be held by April, this doesn't end the uncertainty, and improves the situation, even if so, just marginally. What seems to be Yunus' attempt here is to buy time even as parties clamour for an election in December.

I really hope all these missing billions in pilfered money do not start finding their way back to Bangladesh till a democracy is in place!!….this has been one of my thoughts as to why the cuckoos are dragging their feet….it’s also what the London trip is about to pressure another bent govt to release bent money to another bent interim government….🙄

If the army and other political parties want to wrestle the April elections off Yunus that’s an added bonus…….the only positive that this interim government has up its sleeve is the coal policy formation!……Muhammad Fouzel is a pro coal guy along with the bangla bank chairman Mansur…..they have both strongly supported the use of domestic coal to get the country’s balance of export payments back to where it should be……10 months to a new government,if Fouzel and the stakeholders get their act together we will hear of the policy way before then…..

Just to be clear I have never changed my opinion of Yunus…he is a loan shark weasel and that is my personal opinion……going with this for the couple of sensible people in the cuckoo government Fouzil and Mansur

Nothing wrong with April…..it’s the fact a line has been drawn ,there were naysayers last August saying change of govt was years away….if the political parties and the army hadn’t put pressure onYunus it could have been open ended but how exciting!!……amazing how a big hitter and his wealth entourage decided to load up now 😂….what a coincidence…..anyway there is now a timetable,there is work to be done on the coal policy and that should be a compelling read when it comes….👍👍
