RE: Thurs Aug 6th 2009 a date i will never forget13 Sep 2021 11:21
Yes my post on this thread did give rise to some very good replies. Maybe if i repost it (without typos)...the great response will continue.
Untill news...good luck?
IF we are to get ANY bad news, we will be told by an official RNS and not by these so called expert trolls on here.
I made more money than i had ever dreamed of when Gulf Keystone announced their massive discovery at Shaikan-1.
They had spudded 19 months earlier in Jan 2008. It was one of the deepest wells ever undertaken in Kurdestan.
It was beset with problems from the start. Mud, tar, water, shale and at one point the gas pressure was off the scale, they almost had a BOP blowout.
The TROLLS were at it even back then scaring people out. "Waste of time" "It's a duster" "Todd Kozell is a crook" etc etc etc.
19 months of drilling. Why so long?
GKP never gave up, so why should we?
Yes the trolls even scared me out TWICE.
I bought in at 3.5p around the end of Jan 2008 and wanted to hold for the long term. ..
...BUT those incorrigible trolls got the better of me.
Some six months down the line i re - bought back but this time i had to pay 7p a share....these barstewards had made me sell out at a small loss and cost me double to get back in. Again the trolls were scaring everyone out and the news was thin on the ground . So i sold out again, this time at a profit. I had just about had enough of GKP because i listened to the derampers. Then i came across an old article in a tip sheet of an interview given by Todd Kozell ceo in 2007. He said ....
"There is so much oil down there you can smell it for up to ten miles away but it is deep, very deep but we WILL get it out. There is so much oil the place REEKS" he continued...
"It is under so much natural gas pressure it the oil is literally seeping out of fissures in the rock strata ABOVE the ground! It makes you salivate just thinking about it" (Eventually the Shaikan well was to prove to be initially half the size of London). "FILL TO SPILL" as they said at the time.
It was from an old magazine called Red Hot Penny Shares and originally i skipped over the main part of the interview given by Ross Greenwood!
This made me rethink about the long time this drill was taking....and just FOUR DAYS before the famous RNS i bought back again paying FOUR times my original investment at 14p a share.
When the news dropped on that historic Thurs morning you just could not believe how the sp kept rising....13p, 20p, 30p 60p, 100p then 200p a week or so later. It hit an all time high of 463p!
However as my own instincts told me to sell before i lost it all and was long gone by then and got my mortgage cleared off >15yrs early<
But i will never forget those f.....g scaremongers that denied myself and many other investors and even BIGGER piece of the cake.
My biggest ever learning mistake was listening to rubbish spouted by those with the ability to convice others to sell early albeit we all know they co
