Its very difficult to block out the noise on some days Fred, the thing to keep in mind is the ones who pop up with a prediction of half the current SP can be ignored completely. And the ones who pop up with the reason du jour to fail will eventually run out of reasons. After all they already have for planning permission, stage 1, and stage 2. Bonds will be the next one to fall, and after that some sort of constuction calamity.

If you're happy with your research, and you keep up to date with it, then the noise doesn't matter :)

Thornback - They may not have someone watching the daily fluctuations, but it'd be hugely irresponsible of them not to have alerts at certain thresholds

How lucky we are to have so many people with a handful of posts popping up to tell us what we're doing wrong.

longtimeviewer - stoplosses are fine for slower sp falls. On a day such as the ST2 announcement when we went from 25p to 18p your 10% stop loss could have sold at 25% down. It doesn't guarantee a sell at the price you set, only that your shares will be sold at whatever price you can get.
