some research for you..
On Friday the share price of Asia Resource Minerals hit a new low – 10.25p. The fall nestled the company formerly known as Bumi even more snugly in the 99 per cent club, a group whose falls from grace are so spectacular that their worth slumps to 1 per cent of their former value. Asia Resource’s all-time high was £14.80.
What has put the company truly on the ropes, however, is the plummeting price of coal. Since hitting a peak of $138 a ton in 2011, coal has fallen to about $63.
Last month Nat Rothschild pledged to underwrite a rights issue for the company. Since then its share price has halved.
At the current price, a rights issue would require billions of new shares. Dilution on an epic scale is in the offing. Sell.
