two ways of looking at that Fish mate... i don't mind short term drops if I have some cash left of course. I have my theory on this trend but cannot confirm it one way or the other till circa 10th August (Starboard SEC filing deadline) :)

I think creeping negativity is the destroyer of portfolios sometimes. Patience involves stepping back and evaluating the performance so far. To be fair Cathal has delivered on every count although the last fund raise cheesed me right off but i give him the benefit of doubt on that one occasion. I could never understand why he would go over the odds to fund raise such an amount as bolstering the balance sheet with 20% dilution is not good allocation of capital when he only needed £2-3m to progress the challenge study..
However, that aside he has delivered share holder value in the face of hedge fund sells and un-supportive institutional investor sell offs so I am still pretty upbeat about this company. The key for me is profitability, if he doesn't achieve that this quarter then I will have reassess, but his strategy was always to reach that and sell the company. All other pivots have been a reaction to market opportunity from covid which may or may not pan out. My target is 18p as I think the broker has called it right, anything else is a bonus but I am not counting on it.

Nothing surprises me with the way the MMs play this share. In my years of investing I have never come across a book like this. I've been here for nine months and can count on one had the days they have published live trades accurately. The advice I would give is the same as always, watch the bid price for indication the rest (ask&live prints) is a waste of time and easy to get sucked into. GLA

This hardly seems like a pump and dump share given the CEO has set out a clear strategy to profitability for Q1 next year. Shrink to grow isn't perhaps an ideal strategy but for turnaround stories it is essential for good management to cut out the dead wood and concentrate on the higher margin areas. For me the recent SP climb merely reflected a change in sentiment that the new CEO is on their game and will deliver the strategy they set out to do.
The only way this can be done is by time and given that most AIM investors don't have patience the SP will fluctuate on news flow but long term the trend is only one way in my view... While the fireworks pop elsewhere the patient build a position which is what i have done. Whether it was a good move or not will be determined over the next six months but for me personally I see this as a good investment. If you get a good CEO then it makes as much sense to invest in the person sometimes as it does the company...IMO of course :)

Just checking in on this and the low volumes this week tell the story to me on the spread and SP trade width. Cathal went a little OTT on the PR for a while and wisely, in my view is hopefully concentrating on the plate juggling instead. I never invested for spin offs personally so keen to see how the core tradeable business pans out over the summer. Boring periods are good when you're patient enough to keep the faith.

I appreciate they are running it alongside stage 3; in effect hedging their bets against community based tests being largely unreliable given the variable infection rates in the countries participating over a short term. My point was that they have intimated that they are developing a challenge study to compliment and validate theirs beyond doubt, thereby being in non-commercial competition with orph to develop a model first I suppose. Whether, if successful in doing so, they can, or want to license it commercially is beyond my knowledge base, but we do know they are in partnership with big pharma on production so i cant rule it out. I think this week has told us something quite important. Orph have an option agreement and thereby re-recruit Adrian Wildfire who, otherwise might have been tempted by lucrative offers elsewhere? In effect Cathal has locked him and his colleagues into our group now. Meanwhile another Adrian at Oxford indicates that they are proposing and looking to utilise a challenge study to test their covid vaccine.
Two ways of looking at this. Firstly we know Oxford is a well funded, has a great team and thus represents fierce competition for orph in the race to the line for a model (assuming regulators give way and allow it). The other perspective is that Hvivo has a proven track record, experience and excellent safety record over the years. Furthermore Cathal has moved quickly at no immediate cost to cut off their supply line of potential expertise in this field. If that is not the sign of a strategic master play then I don't know what is!!?
One thing is for certain thou.. Oxford is one entity looking possibly to service their own end game only, whereas Orph are a commercial entity looking to service all global pharma. The two are different and I don't think for one minute that oxford progress short term would stop other pharmas on their drive for vaccine development medium / long term.

Revisiting the investment case often is a good move for any investor. Happy going into weekend, no change from me. Cheers all DJ

Agree Barwick. I am very optimistic that the the last of the block sellers are finished for now. The trouble is that the continual sell into the last 6 weeks of great news has dented momentum short term. Thin market today across the board. Time for a long weekend me thinks. :)

I should add that there are further relaxations on reporting on trades on AIM listed stocks which has separate guidance notes I have yet to find.... Heavy reading enjoy :)

Lesson here in not relying on live pricing for SP trends . Big movements in bid price already and yet reported trades aren't huge. All going to be late reported so the EMS is low for a reason in my view.. Bully and smiling more and more ..DYOR best of luck DJ
