Ricky.. The market notionally values everything from balance sheet, sales projection, future growth and even potential. The simple fact is that the notional value attributable to the spin off leaves open orphan's control and therefore the present valuation and future growth prospect go with it. The valuation of the spin wont be known until it is IPO'ed whereby the shares will be floated with a valuation taking into account all the above factors. They would then need to raise capital as part of the IPO leading to dilution but pricing future potential.
It is therefore inevitable that the market will price out something from Orph, by how much is unknown and could well be an over (or under) reaction given that market ineffeciency. This is where money is made after all. The simple rule is that you cannot create capital from nothing and everything is valued by the market. So it is entirely logical and prudent to take thi into account when considering SP movements. The fact that the results are also to be released is another variable. GL
