Fundamentals are perhaps improving, but I think the main thing is that sentiment is improving - little by little. Bank of America getting involved is a positive. We have to hope the peripheral business developments will expand quickly enough to be bottom line enhancing. Power supply should be net positive and the servicing dept may struggle for the next six winter months. This may lead to negative press comments (bless them). Long term holders need more than a steady rise but is it time to average down?? Thoughts - perhaps from inside the power house!
I agree with all you say in your 8-56, I would just add also reduce your outgoings, we have a small pension, state pension, a small income from a couple of P/T jobs grow our own veg plus fruit at the allotment but the main thing is a reduction of outgoings. £3 shirt from charity shop yesterday etc. Then you spend your money on the pleasures you want. My dad died 5 months before he was 65 - worked from 15. I was determined to retire so went at 62 and a half, ten years ago. Investments continue to be an interest with, in the past, a few good dividends. Let us hope those times return and any investments that are in the red pick up. I'm sure we could give the younger ones a few pointers to health and happiness!
Each to their own but don't try to be too greedy. RR has a good business model and should be ok in the future. Take care all. ( enjoy the cricket!)
chester - a good spot re the NY ev charging points and battery storage contract. My feeling is confidence in cna is so low the share price will not move until there is proof they can complete projects on time and within budget. With luck all will go well and the company will go from strength to strength - but I don't think it is quite ready to fly. In 2 years it maybe a very different company with a much improved share price. GL all.
Hi all, some good points raised on this BB today, some negatives also. I hold a few cna shares and under water by 1/3 but intend to hold and will buy more if the price drops into the 40's. I read reports from cna employees that have been positive - thanks for those contributors - helpful to the rest of us. I can see cna making progress as a distributor - electricity or hydrogen will remain a question to be answered. Nuclear power is a positive for me in lots of ways and elec. heating will be very easy to convert to. I note the storage heating question be raised - historical memory of an historical system - you don't store energy as heat any longer!! You store energy as power - a battery and switch it on when needed, switch it off when not. Why every new home isn't being built with solar is beyond me. I will give the cna board another chance to make progress. The last bod were a disaster- this one may resurrect the company from the depths. To those working for cna - thanks for your hard work and I hope the board support you and the long term share holders. We do however need a sight of the company long term plans to be able to make our own judgement regarding our investments. Take care all
sorry the peel hunt / sant news seems to have been on April the 26th! so no it wasn't share price enhancing!!
'i dealing' paid mine at some point yesterday, along with one from verizon.
fear not yours will arrive!
Today's news could prove to be share price enhancing in the medium term.
Rising raw material costs, rising input costs, = rising inflation. What can individuals do as a hedge against inflation - we are doomed. Very difficult times ahead for individuals - perhaps.
The calculus sale gives a bit more liquidity in the market which is not a bad thing. Long term holders /( believers) are not selling and so it is difficult to form the market. It will be interesting to see the traders reaction later in the day. Still a good long term hold for myself.
Jubber I am invested in BT and agree with you about the Conn man. I highlighted the fact he was on the BT board a couple of months ago. He is a fraud and absolutely no asset to BT or any other company. I am also invested in CNA and well down in that company, my BT investment is slightly up and I have received some great divi's in the past. I still think BT is a buy at these levels as a mid term hold. EOA
This was on my watch list!
what do you mean only a postman - you have kept us all going this past 12 months and a financial wizz as well, can't be bad. Take care
It appears people are loading up this pm - presumably they are expecting (very) good news. I also am hoping for good results but better than that a robust business plan and details of how to solve the strike actions - no one wants poor labour relations with the guys doing the work. Good luck all lth's.
sorry only half a story but neighbours girl friend has been offered immunotherapy at the Churchill Hosp. in Oxford, he didn't know answers to my q's and didn't feel I could pry too much. However, are scancell involved in this trial? If so phase 3 under way very soon. If not who is it? If /when I hear more detail which is relevant I will post. Sorry only half a story - or even less!! Take care all. DEBS1
