santander reducing the interest rates on their 123 accounts, a shame but inevitable in the low interest rate world. It still remains a very good current account with cash back on utility payments etc. Share price seems to fluctuate with strength /weakness of the pound against the euro. Latin america seems to remain strong. BOD also keep buying so it remains a hold for me. Take care all.

A no deal with WTO rules back on the cards then. No problems if that’s what the EU want. I thought the new commissioner would be able to talk sense but evidently not.

the rns says just over 3 million share purchased by the two co's and the sp drops- unless I have misread and it is 3.5 million sold?

I can assure you my comment and observation was WHOLLY CORRECT, walking round the booker meat dept the last time I was there only meat from Brazil was available. I do not doubt what you say, in the past things might have been different but NOT when I was there. I have often bought meat from there but will not buy meat imported from destructed rainforest lands. British farmers deserve to be supported by British retailers and Tesco should do their bit, not to mention all the environmental issues.

Thanks for the link wids - a good ( really a great) read and insight into smaller but more powerful government. I have always felt the same way about public spending and if someone can take the bull by the horns and reduce the process spending and deliver the savings in the form outcomes / objectives the UK plc may just move forwards. I am looking forwards to the next 12 months with renewed anticipation. Is reading between the lines a code for 'get out of financials'? everyone should read it.

watch out with this share, Tesco are very poor on environmental issues and the word will get out soon. It will show Tesco in very bad light so just take care, even considering selling to get out at what really is a high price. I think the first issue is Bookers - only Brazilian beef available - no uk beef. More rain forest gone.

Middle of the road politics, I would say slightly right of centre for myself but that is open for discussion - as always. To me that has always been the good thing about politics and discussion. We are a good country to grow up in and live in. Ok some take advantage of the system, some don't respect their community, some need more help than they are getting but don't let a government in that would once again open the drawers and let their cronies help themselves until it is all gone - again. Hard work still to be done. I don't think Boris has painted a bleak enough picture of the left wing EU and how the commision - that is the unelected rulers of the EU have failed / been unable to unite 28 countries for any ones benefit except Germany and France - the population of France, of course, don't appreciate how well of they are and just want more for doing less. I still feel a 'common market' has some advantages but a Europe ruled by an unelected commission - no thanks. Take care all

Thanks for asking about friend, she is not well at all, although we only have 'text' contact at the moment. She is having stem cells harvested this week prior to another round of chemo. Fingers crossed and anything else crossable.
Also for putting me right with my over simplification of ways to get trials started in the UK. I am sure there is so much going on behind the scenes and the Vulpes input gives that extra confidence to SCLP as an investment. Take care.

I am a little surprised that Oxford isn't being opened as a trial centre, I would have thought conversations with the local oncology hospitals would have been held long ago, with head office only round the corner. Also CRUK should have links with all oncology consultants and get 20 people at the right stage for the trial shipped in to Nottm - if that really is the only venue for the trial. SCLP could easily pay for B and B for 20 people to stay in the Nottm area for the start of the trial. Am I just thinking too far outside the box?? If people are past conventional treatments surely they would jump at the chance of life lengthening possibilities / options. I know I would.

journeo - I hope they didn't pay someone to come up with such a stupid name. As for the share consolidation, never had much luck with companies who have done it in the past. I just hope the company has some spectacular contract lined up. The past few years doesn't give a lot of hope though. Chin up fellow 'journeo's' . I don't believe it either!

I am guessing the drop is due to the new left of left Spanish coalition parliament which as ever will put the squeeze on business and will lead to instability in the markets. However uncle doug I think you have a good entry price - for a medium term investment and a very good price for a long term one.
