It’s always about expectations. Which I guess sometimes worries me about the otc. If expectations are unrealistic then any news won’t be good enough…let’s see what Merlin final analysis brings. But with experience with Charlie-1 next next drill should hone in on peregrine or Charlie and get a flow tested commercial result.

Yes we are expecting a god result but there are degrees of good...given we didn't flow test there will need to be a better review and 'picture painting' to maintain value. imagine you're 'expecting' 500m barrels (which is good) but they say under analysis you have 700m or 300m...those are still good the 700m would more likely drive further advances but the 300m less likely....

I'm just going to sit back and avoid the day to day nonsense....the only things that matter to me at the moment are the Merlin result, forward plan and funding/FO...the peanut pickers can have their day. I just hope that the manipulators get caught out on the turn and buried.

Whilst I think the OTC is great for volume there are naturally the short termers like any market.
They seem to react better to positive news Wirth positive moments but have the same challenges if they don't have immediacy of information. I'm a little surprised they are downward moving with results due imminently...but each to their own.

Generally at least 1 market is out of line with the others 2. UK had rallied to meet the US close of Friday. If that had held then AUS would be behind. Today the US dropped and the UK followed, although both still currently above AUS close this morning.
I think the US dropped partially give the general market sentiment which is weaker this morning and that is partially due to OPEC playing games and creating uncertainty. Irony is uncertainty with respect to oil supply should help us...but it doesn't it seems. I think the if OPEC do come to an agreement (likely to be an increased supply even if that falls short of the expectations/previous agreements) then that will be positive as the market will know what supply rate will be available. Markets hate not knowing...even if they don't like the answer at least they have an answer....

Worth noting that the wider US market is having a tough day too....EEENF is but 1 wave in an ocean.

Shame the noise of the weekend hasn't been correlated to the trading so far. I'm sure it'll reverse but in the interim they will just have to do what they think is right.

I think thats a positive sign. Clearly the US being out today as the 3rd market and in recent times the biggest will have an effect on the other 2. I also think if the company is receiving the information of the Merlin analysis and building that into an RNS, its wise to ensure that message is written clearly and well and ideally better to be released when all markets are open. I think the rest of the week will provide a better indication of direction. Maybe a bit skeptical at the start but now I see the value in having the US input in the trading cycle.

23.22 - US rallied hard into the close on Friday. I think it was just AIM market makers selling off excessive shares that they didn’t see OTC requiring to flatten the books.

Be interesting to see if ASX and AIM have lower volumes as they won't need to collect for OTC. It'll be a different day for sure. ASX price will be interesting....if it holds then the drop from Friday 3pm onwards wasn't warranted. Lets see.
