I agree Surfie, the reckless surge in interest rates is going to lead to a painful recession. Central bankers are absolutely clueless....................flooded the global economy with free money during covid, which of course is going to lead to spiralling inflation and now instead of slowly levering it back in, they are going for a nuclear option too late.............which will just lead to more pain. I will add more as the prospects in the market are good, but will wait until the next raise. This is extremely high risk, particularly given the current difficulties companies are having raising funds...................and there are some real concerns with IES, not least the cash burn and astronomical admin expenses

Lamps - it's all their in the interim results. Cash burn is £1.3m a month................and they had £16m cash at the end of June, so will be about £11m now. Admin expenses are an eye watering £17m a year!

Interims also mention this as a Going Concern:
Should existing contracts be delivered more than three-months late or the Group fail to win LODES, or an equivalent contract, early next year then, assuming the Group maintains its current operational capacity, it will be necessary to raise further funding within the next 12-months in order to continue trading and delivering on the current strategic objectives.

Sushi is right in some respects (not the rising shipping costs). The company's cash burn is eye watering and it will need to raise funds within the next year again. That will weigh on the SP. They need to map out a pathway to break even because atm it's based more on hope of financial support which is not a sustainable business model

I couldn't be bothered with the placing, as was too much hassle and I've lost faith. Plus with all recent placings, the price has ended up falling below the placing price in due course, so likely I can always buy some on the open market if I desire

The MCAP is now so low that any good RNS with commercial agreements will see this rerate significantly. Risk/reward is favourable, but most have had their fingers burned so are understandably put off

I have similarly asked for double my allocation, for similar reasons wyndrum. It is a fairly nominal amount of money I'm committing...............I will not invest any more meaningful funds until I see either Director purchases and/or clarity on revenues and profits
