that is indeed good news, so long as it comes to fruition, and i hope for all it does. I would just remind that a similar carrot was offered regards the water pipeline for example with tenders given many many months ago yet no construction. There has been lots of 'progress' hinted at over the years, i'll wait till i see some actually delivered just the once.

These 0% rates for so long really buggers up the banks liquidity and lending ability, lots of stuffed mattresses bulging with non market players/OAP cash nowadays id imagine, just removes the incentive to lend leading to more and more QE and a downwards spiral.

my point was UK specific given the low take up so far (or Gov inability to offer), UK government doesnt buy tests for other countries as far as i know?

Saw todays rns news and first thing into my mind was the Dyson order. Government orders loads of ventilators then suddenly they dont need them anymore. Money spent market evaporates.
Same could be for the tests, which on the daily news seems to have a smaller than expected take up from the public. Another Dyson maybe? i dunno.

Theres a testing centre by my house thats stood idle and empty for two weeks plus now.

see they have announced a 6 month contract with DSS, 288k tests a week, shares up just over 13%. Unbelievable when you look back at the chart, wonder if they have further to go?

just had a letter from Lloyds telling me they are reducing the interest on my savings account from 0.10% down to 0.01% LOL thats not interest thats an insult.

Thats typical Craig, cant blame em for over ordering i suppose given that only a lower % probably arrived anyway. My neighbour who's a physio working on the Covid ward in my local hospital has been ordered to use 'out of date' masks - pop her some in the post, she's been having a torrid time of it of late and the virus isnt too bad down here thankfully.
