49'er, you got me well sussed out lol. Have been investing for 30+ years, am a lth in the main rather than a trader as such, but i fancied a bit of a dabble at trading, hence the name. I am cr@p at that to be fair, so back to familiar pastures of proper 'investing' for the longer term.
HL currently have suspended the issuing of certificates, as well as lodging them back electronically, so you will be unable to do that for a while. Also worth noting that there is a plan to withdraw certificates c9mpletely across all brokers in 2025, i think it was. The powers that be are trying to force everything to be digital - probably easier for them to monitor/recover the tax that way. Not sure how they plan to 'force' paper holders to choose who to deposit investments with mind. Cant beat a bit of paper i recon :)

Riolto, i know exactly what you mean, do seem to find a few numpties about these days on all the boards, a shame really but each to their own i suppose, adds to the amusement if not the wealth. Got a couple of fools on Rya, one predicting 8euros for the last year and yet still cant see the light at around 17e. Seems to be a couple on here too with similar aflications. Ah well, just keep up the good work mate, tuck em away while their cheap and reap the benifits once this accursed covids grip is loosened.

Depends of your looking to sell them really, if not then its safer to hold them in your own name directly on the register, rather than through a broker. HL (precovid) used to allow you to withdraw your holdings onto certificates free of charge, and relodge them if you wish later also for free. Obviously if you sell them in certificate form the fees are much higher, so just relodge and deal them online. Im a bit old school :)

So then, following the consolidation, do those (such as myself) who hold their shares in the old fashioned certificated form receive a replacement certificate with the new holding?

Absolutley Ismalia, can only consider the 'cash is almost there' RNS a fabrication after all this time, it was most definately misleading at best.
