The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
As Manuel would say “I know nathing”!! Honestly, trying to balance up all the hard work done on the project to date and the money/time invested (inc all those Euros) against the probable understandable vocal opposition to the project .. trying to assess which way and how quick a final decision will be forthcoming is .. well like bog snorkelling or even knitting fog !!
Just to cheer you lot up as all a bit gloomy today ! ? We have a probable new customer docking on 1st April ( no fool now ) and quite "a few irons in the fire" so to speak .Even if news on I.M. is not as wished for, there's a lot else happening as we negotiate those rocks at the harbour entrance on the end of of our first voyage. Be Assured !! Hat still available to be eaten !
Hmmm.. Lawyers with brains.. Nice One !!
...Three years ago we were just that ...and then along comes JW and Team aided by AR and JT ( over on the Island itself) .
JW is a real risk taker with ambition for Infa not just as a disruptor in the sector but as a major player in the fields highlighted on the H&W Webbysite.
Thanks to the efforts and foresight of JW & Co we are now a potential 7 horse thoroughbred ( if one includes Barrow) and if ML happens and we able to reduce the Capex and perhaps take equity out of I M then that could be a further capital base for funding the various enterprises in hand.
We will for sure need lots of capital going forward .ML actually is a crucial and significant factor in the next fortnight assuming that the equity/debt providers are standing ready ( which I assume to be the case ?) Hold on very tight folks.Land is in sight but there is a rocky shoreline before the harbour entrance !!
.....still exist and even more so than in the last 5 years or so.
The original raison d'etre was security and adequacy of Gas supply to N.I. in an economy increasingly dependent following the demise of oil etc.
Now with the project being deemed suitable for hydrogen storage and the inexorable rise of Wind Power availability adding to the process of creating hydrogen for domestic and transport uses, then Hydrogen storage just adds to its importance .This is well documented hand hopefully will in the next 14 days to a positive outcome for the ML decision ?
In the hope that we do have a positive recommendation to the Government accordingly, then any recommendation probably be dealt with by committee not by the Minister himself, bearing in mind the recent absence of Mr Poots due to illness..He has returned ....indeed a lot on his plate to handle alone in his circumstances ..we need to hold on tight for the next 28 days or so !!
It is timely of Stokey to bring up the old corker of a possible JR.This has been a troublesome worry before at several times !
Anyhow whilst it remains troublesome it is only a possibility NOT a probability.
A JR is a type of court proceeding in which a judge reviews the LAWFULNESS of a decision made by a public body,in this case being Daera.
A JR is a challenge to the way in which a decision has been arrived at rather than the pros and cons or rights and wrongs of the conclusion so reached.
The Judge is not bothered about the legitimacy of the conclusion by the Public Body as long as the right procedures have been followed.
The Judge will not substitute what it may happen to consider is the "correct"decision.
The bringing of a JR IS expensive for the claimant and more so now in Covid due to procedural delays . The appellant has the right to seek an injunction to stop any application in its tracks.
There may well have been errors in the past by Infa such as allegedly the inadequate notifications etc but the ML application is now over two years in the making and we have employed top line lawyers to ensure compliance.
One cannot rule out a JR but the costs are highly significant for both sides ,even more so for the complainant !!
Great post, Chris .. is there not a shipyard at Ballybaloney ??!!!!
Wow,Speedy ..good memory as it was in the good old days of stormy seas, remember !! Now that we are nearing the end of the first part of the second voyage with landfall in sight, I will indeed eat my hat if we have not landed by the end of the month ..though we have quite a bit of work to do on land in April --you will know where I'm coming from !!
Stokey , The source is viable contacts within the ferry industry so be assured that work IS coming our way and that it will be good and result in a significant spend or at least more than usual recently .!!!
Stokey .. you did well to be the first to spot this beauty as being scheduled to arrive today but her sister Isle of Inishmore was one our very first customers .. more good news on the way with a totally new customer coming soon .Watch this space !!!
Thanks, Bubbles.. and all noted ..Barrow should not be a forgotten gem indeed !!
Apologies for repetition today .. my first posting did not appear at first .. thought I had been banned for over recommending ... again !!!Genuine feelings though and with a little knowledge!!!
...............and so is H&W with possible new contracts from a new but highly respected and well known client on the cards .....not certain but highly likely.Commiserations to all those (like me) who took the plunge in those heady recent days at the Offer/Placement at 45p but bearing mind that ML is a decent bet ( otherwise Ursula and team will be just a tad upset at the loss of all the E.U. funding towards "connecting Europe!") Barrow is not forgotten or cancelled and we have Methil and The Hebrides to look forward to in 12-18 months time, maybe things should turn "blue" later and for the remainder of the week .
Hope so ,as this little AIM tiddler has a lot riding on it !! Watch this space .Sub 40p could be a snip??
Hi Folks ..remember those recent heady times when we all rushed into the 2021 offer and placing at 45p and look where were are now !! Oops.I was one too but.....
.......with Appledore looking good and H&W even better ( new orders from a famous operator expected !!), with ML odds better than even and also Barrow not cancelled and,oh yes, Methil and the Hebrides to look forward to in 12-18 months time .sub 40p looks a snip ....may be you will see blue for the remainder of the day ..hope so as this AIM tiddler has a lot riding on it !!
Or rather "salutes" Loch Ryan where Stena Edda is at present !! --sorry
....safely docked as anticipated on this Board with sister to follow shortly so we are keeping the workforce happy and busy for now.I was never able to find out why Stena Edda was with us for so long but all seems hunky dory with her now as she salutes the Isle of Man etc. More exciting news soon, folks !!
It is noted that last year the Scottish Government ( then part owner of our new Scottish yards in administration )was ready with significant grants to support the yards but was not able to do so because of constraints by the wretched E.U.negative rules .. on support...the unions were dismayed as all the available work was outsourced abroad despite the locations right by the winds blowing strong on both the West and East coast as they do .. now that the political scene has changed (at least for the time being!!!) John must lobby with the Unions to push for these grants to be re-activated . Sturgeon, assuming that you can survive the current debacles, now is the time !! Cheque Book at the ready please !!Good timing and perceptive
analysis and research,John and team .. well done !
.... for Fabrication, Fabrication especially for the Windy Farms !! Maybe ML has done the BOD and .... us a big favour?!!
Just noticed the size of it in relation to the yellow jacketed staff member !!!
The comments and the very high standard of work by H&W should make us all feel very proud pending us overcoming the interminable wait for ML. When that happens our “European Friends “ will be so pleased to see their part funding rewarded .... at long last !!!
