Given the clear statement made, which would likely have market impact, I can’t see why that would not now happen. There can’t be any shortage of potential partners for such an opportunity. It’s something that could be announced anytime in the next few months. Meanwhile the current sp is odd given the good future exploration news stacking up.

Sounds promising. Hopefully Total or Qatar are also interested. Otherwise a new company with a will to get on with it.

The ‘acquisition’ of Northstar would increase AUM but then those funds would have to stay. That’s why I said ‘willingly’. There are plenty of business folk who don’t like their interests being traded, and who then make other arrangements if they have concerns. With this lot I’d have concerns.

One can’t help but wonder why managers/owners of significant cash pots would willingly let this lot anywhere near it, given the general business ineptness that has been evident for so long from its management team.

The guide does acknowledge government and authorities can set too onerous contracts which aren’t beneficial to either side. It’s worth a read.

They could hardly reinstate a divi with the contract dispute outcome - with a range of app £100m from worst to best scenario -hanging over the company.

Should respective Venus-1 and Graff-1 prove to be successful, they could open-up multibillion-barrel plays. Azinam's Gazania-1 well will test an oil target up-dip from a proven stratigraphic play on the South African nearshore shelf. All three wells are oil directed and independent of each other, as they test different plays in the basin. All three wells will require substantial infrastructure to bring the resources to market. Consequently we have determined a minimum viable field size of 250 MMbbls for Venus or Graff and 50 MMbbls for Gazania, given its shallower location.

Venus has not just to show the presence of HCs, but to come in big. Let’s hope it does.
