I expect the 100p line will be crossed and recrossed for a few days. But next week it should be left behind.

Is our resident expert around to offer a view on the results? The response seems rather overdone given they largely followed previous guidance.

Just noticed Tullow is shorted to the tune of a whopping 14%, in fact sitting at the top of the chart.

Just checked the shorting list, but nothing (above 0.5%) is shown, so hopefully there’ll be a rebound fairly quickly.

Nope - seen nothing, heard nothing. Seems odd after showing signs of recovery last week, but hopefully short-lived negativity.

I’m surprised the quid wasn’t broken through last week, but it remains only a matter of time even if for now SGC is treading water. The company could well be stronger in the longer term after COVID.

I’d thought of adding earlier this week as a ‘no brainer’ - but didn’t, so a few expletives are in the air. But agreed, ECO tends to drop back. However, one day the mood will seriously change and I think that’ll be well before the drill turns.

New holder here - 1500 at 439p. Seemed a fair set of results with a decent outlook to me.

Having added last week I’m now thinking of another go having liquidated elsewhere. Bit of a no brainier, as they say.

While the actual drilling is on hold, things that can improve matters will happen before then, I reckon. I’ve topped up while it’s quiet and the sp is relatively cheap, but having taken the ride from 16p to 200p before selling as it started to drift lower, I can wait this time too.

I fancy SGC to move on quite well this week, with the quid broken through. The outlook is great anyway, but it’s nice to feel the pot is boiling.

The sector has been the Cinderella of the market and investors have realised how low its overall valuations had got. Also the low-hanging quick profits are less obvious now, so that’s another crazy reason why Kie and others are suddenly in favour. But as you’ve mentioned, there is a good outlook for infrastructure and housing which underpins the sentiment.

The solar loan earns 2% but is to be fully repaid when the ipo occurs. The signals are that the ipo will be later this year - before the drilling. They’re not stupid!

The scientists producing the vaccines have made it very clear they have a product that can quickly be finessed to counter variants that arise (variants being the expected norm in such viruses). That is a massive game changer which means COVID will be kept in check like flu viruses. Life will return to normal and buses will be busy.

Still happening and still no escaping stamp duty.

Maybe, it certainly was out of sync to recent movements, which have looked very controlled to me. There’s long been an expectation of increasing infrastructure spend for a while, so I can’t see that being the cause of a sudden upturn.
