Thanks for all the advice people! I decided to set up a watch list first thing this morning and stick the 7 shares that I was thinking about using the cash for in the list. 7 investments of between £30k and £50k each. Day 1 and all of them are red except one which is 16%+ up already...

I was looking for a mixture of steady and more risky shares so it went something like this for anyone who's interested;

Barc 50,000 @103p
BP 20,000 @ 213p
CCH 2000 @ 1938p
DGE 1500 @ 2710p
NIO 3000 @ $21.60
RAT 2000 @ 1550p
TSCO 20,000 @ 222p

Only hypothetical atm and not my final list but NIO up 17.76% already!

I have a question for the group if I’m allowed…? I’ve looked at the recommendations from Motley Fool but I’m not that convinced and think you guys will give me better options.

I’m in the process of selling a property which should complete late next month and am then going to stick around £300k of the proceeds into shares that hopefully will give me a good mix of capital growth and maybe some dividends.

I’m thinking of circa £50k in each of 6 shares and was looking for which 6 you’d pick if you were in my shoes?

I'm down around £12k myself at 50.xp (not all on AML but overall). Once AML goes north of 52.5p I'm in the blue on it and then over 55p gets me in the blue overall so this is frustrating... I'm not sure Stroll or associates are allowed to buy shares since 1st October as in the closed period before Nov12 results? But someone seems to be keeping the Sp above 50p for sure!

It's almost like someone has told the LSE that if it gets close to 50.00p they'll buy whatever is necessary to keep it north of there... Maybe it's someone doing it just to prove Roger wrong for a change... ;-)

I'm trying to laugh Tiny but it gets more and more difficult the longer this goes on...

Yeah but unfortunately we're struggling to test 51.5p atm...

I think we're more likely to struggle to finish above 50p today if I'm honest....

I wouldn't advise going to the other extreme like me... ALL my cash (£115k) in AML shares at 52.xxp but I think the normal advise is around 15 different shares to spread risk. I'm just convinced that AML is going to make me a lot of upside over the next couple of months!

Made it through to 53p but looks like that number triggered a load of sells to push it back down again... :-(

Today's trades up until 3pm… Anything over 40,000 shares pretty even. It feels like the first day in a long time that the SP is being allowed to do what it wants without interference but then what do I know…?!

I’m hanging on in there but not understanding this investment lark at all!

Berenberg lower their target price on RR today by around 7.5% but the RR SP rises by another 19%; now more than doubled in a week…
Marstons the pub company up 15% just days before a potential lockdown in the UK…
MAB up another 4.5% today after a similar rise yesterday…
AML struggling to get over 52p yet again…

Just scrolling through today's transactions and one thing that does strike me is that a great many of the Sell transactions over 52p seem to be Automatic Executions rather than manual...

Maybe AML are keeping their mouths shut re anything positive atm because they already have an order book of circa 5,000 DBX's but think that number could grow to 6,000+ between now and Nov 12th which would then get them back into 3 figures on the SP...? Forever the optimist here!! :-)
