The Chinook well was not a great result but what really went to hell was credibility.

Why big companies do things is often a mystery. RTZ for years ran a nonsensical gold exploration operation in Northern Ireland which became Galantas, but as soon as the U.K. government altered its tax collection policies and abolished dividend credits they knocked it on the head.

Anyway the economics of T&T $24 oil without any infrastructure doesn’t look that compelling. Especially given the era was one of big finds elsewhere and the colossal new Dutch northern gas find would have sucked up huge amounts of capital and manpower focus in that period.

The economics of it may impact the perception of the day.

In 1959 oil was $3 USD which would be around $24 today.

And oil pricing was pretty stable during the period.

We will see but Friday and Monday are bank holidays and T&T is a religious country so do you think the testing will start on Saturday as stated by PB or on Tuesday?
