The long list of reasons why this SP should have been rising just got too long. Yes, Lanstead the seller is all but gone. Involvement in a huge number of applications and uses for the product in its various forms just keeps on and on. Superdry is with us, Aecom is with us, Bicycle helmets and other sports equipment applications are with us, concrete is enhanced with graphene, too. The pandemic depression is fading and perhaps Russian elite has less stomach for the war in Ukraine to continue, now that the resistance is bolstered by a new supply of effective weapons. Only one way for this to go now, surely? Maybe a little more residual short term pain but now really heading in a better direction for the best reasons.
Well spotted Micky.
I came across some interesting papers which indicate close involvement by Versarien subsidiary Cambridge Graphene which have been published in nature. I must confess to being unable to grasp some of the heavier technical information contained, but to me it is yet another field where Graphene and Versarien are leading the way to more leaps ahead in technical advances. https://www.graphene.cam.ac.uk/news/graphene-enables-ten-times-higher-data-storage-in-computer-memories
On reflection, how long before consultants and contractors start specifying GRC on the back of this first commercial case? Demand for the graphene additive would soon increase. The ready mix concrete suppliers at batching plants will be crying out for graphene before long. What about the advantages in the precast yards. This grows more and more interesting.
Steel fibre reinforced segmental lining? Why not graphene reinforced sprayed concrete instead? The early trials of GRC showed the promise of accelerated setting times and early strength gains, which have certain advantages over steel fibre reinforced. A lighter unit weight would mean a thinner layer would produce a better hoop strength too.
....and this is just one out of many papers demonstrating exactly how much better graphene reinforced concretes are than standard concrete: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/pdf/10.1002/adfm.201705183
All this excitement for something that we have known about for quite some time. I am glad that it is being shown or promoted, of course, but as a civil engineer it is one of the reasons I am invested here. Steel fibres and other particulates are included in concretes to improve strength but a few years ago, graphene products were added in experiments and showed great improvements in curing time and rate of strength gain etc. This is not really new, but it is certainly newsworthy and is just one of the many properties that graphene has to offer. People say that Neil should be shouting it from the rooftops or there should be an RNS. I disagree. Investors should learn more about the huge potential and versatility of Versarien’s high quality products. Graphene promotes itself. This stock has always been a coiled spring. As time passes, it just gets tighter and tighter.
Here is the original source of the info in yesterdays news. https://www.pv-magazine.com/2021/04/29/graphene-aluminum-ion-batteries-with-ultra-fast-charging/
I read somewhere recently that the new Al-Ion battery technology uses Graphene cathodes. My question is: Will VRS be supplying the high quality graphene material for these anodes? I also read that the batteries will be in use in the electric car industry next year. It seems like a big market about to open up. Are VRS ready to capitalise?
Always grateful for your posts RT. They shine a lot more than some of the obvious ramping and de-ramping going on. This will be on a mad roller coaster for many weeks now that so much attention has been focussed by the launch into orbit over the last week.
Through shear luck as a novice, I made enough money trading this stock in 2017 to buy some land overseas. I liked the home-grown geology and the Gatwick gusher. I left a few shares unsold and monitored it during the unhappy slide until the court case with SCC for the gas prospect when I bought back in. Another sad but unfinished story, I felt reluctant to sell, but when the Turkish adventure began, I was encouraged by the geological potential there too. Cashed in the amount invested in of my holding yesterday, so just my profit is flying and ready for a drop of it comes. Will this reach 1p or go back above 5p again? There is a chance that might happen when they spud in in Turkey and results of drilling start to make some exciting RNS’s. I’m holding and thinking of buying more nearer spud in time in June?
Oops apologies basscadet, I don’t always check back in previous days posts, but I do follow what is happening with graphene and wanted to answer streakys query with a possible reason. Of course, it could also be mm’s on the move again.
Well streaky, I was pleasantly surprised by the late rally in the SP today too, so I wondered if it could have been a couple of news stories, one in Metro and another in Science daily referring to very tiny graphene based microchips today. According to the News, the University of Sussex (Quoted from a paper written under Prof Alan Dalton) have made miniature microchips, 100 times smaller than so-called "conventional" microchips and this "could lead to computers and phones running THOUSANDS of times faster. They refer to mechanically created "crinkled strips of graphene which behave like a microchips. They call the process nano-origami, which is amusing in itself, but importantly, they put kinks into pure graphene strips, rather than work with chemical processes that introduce metal oxides into the graphene layers. Kinking the graphene to make these tiny chips is greener, more sustainable technology. A thousand times faster. Mind-boggling, and they are going to need to make use of pure graphene and we know where the best quality verified graphene comes from, don't we?
Sorry, I forgot to mention that the new material they write about is a ferroelectric material with layers of graphene and Boron Nitride. Sound familiar? Yes.
There is news from MIT. Neuromorphic computers. This has big implications for the fast developing field of robotics. Robots with very powerful brains that work much more like the real thing. It sounds very much like this application could result in processing speeds far beyond what was known up until now. news.mit.edu
We can hope, Hads and lads and lassies. There is some positive sentiment around at the moment, mostly related to the competitive edge that a vaccine-driven covid recovery might have on the brexit-blighted British economy vs that of Europe and the USA. There are some little victories now and some bigger ones coming. We can always hope.
What utter twaddle. I am a scientist who attended Manchester University and I can safely confirm that the knowledge of my wife about graphene is confined to the fact that her graphene Covid mask is comfortable and that is important when she wants to do essential shopping.
When I noticed Puddy, Coggy and Mole all posted on the same page, I wondered what was going on. We have the 2 yr delisting anniversary coming up later this month, so I thought it might be something to do with that. When they delisted from AIM on 25/1/19, FRR stated it would advance its work and update shareholders via website and RNS. I laughed when I looked back on that RNS, and then I thought maybe Zaza would choose such an anniversary to prove to all those who lost faith in him that they were wrong. Could he provide a report to shareholders? Do we think he might distribute those long awaited Christmas presents that the Grinch stole from him? The world at the moment is completely surreal so I thought such an anniversary might provide the most improbable miracle of all. Its not like we haven't been patient, either! I can only guess that such a small and forlorn hope is what keeps us all coming back here to see...
Stumbled across this article about sportswear. It’s dated 12 Jan but sorry if it’s old hat. ;) https://www.punchline-gloucester.com/articles/aanews/versarien-puts-graphene-sportswear-through-its-paces
So here we are, some of us locked down in London where there are reports that Coronavirus is out of control. I just wish that everyone else here knew that VRS (through our subsidiary gnanomat) have tried and tested and proven that graphene materials have been tested and proven 99.99% effective at inhibiting viral infection. Specifically effective against SARS-Cov-2 under laboratory conditions. I wear a mask containing graphene whenever I have to go out and do essential shopping and am very thankful that it came in time to help some of us. I happen to be in a higher risk age range (65-70) who has a while to wait to be vaccinated. This information can be viewed in the RNS that was coincidentally issued on my 66th birthday, Nov 18th 2020!
