odd thing to put in a post for someone with 25 yrs of SB, placing hundreds of Spread bets yet, states "gambling?" when clearly UK law treats it as a form of gambling, profits are exempt from CGT and Stamp Duty, and losses cannot be offset for tax purposes.

This hybrid position, regulated as financial trading, but taxed as gambling and this is what confuses many people.

just like in past, you refuse to call it for what it is...gambling.

Whilst Spread betting is not classified as gambling in the same way as casino or sports betting, and it is regulated by the FCA, not the Gambling Commission. Because UK law treats it as a form of gambling, profits are exempt from CGT and Stamp Duty, and losses cannot be offset for tax purposes.

88, As for LTI posts being removed, i had not noticed maybe you should ask admin as to why. in fact it would be a great idea when remove post that admin give an auto message in place of the post as to why and who reported it.

Hi 88, true, in the past i had been bearish, although i have had some joy going long in recent times and i'm all in cash at present. I have posted bullish articles and posts, as well as bearish ones; however this bull run will end but that does not mean i have not enjoyed reaping rewards as i go.

It's called trading, some PI's sit on a profolio regardless i enjoy being more active and don't treat it as my only form of income....

Trimming does not improve the average, it is a misconception that trimming improves the average and it comes from a misunderstanding of how cost basis is calculated. Fixed cost basis, when you sell some shares from a profitable position, you lock in gains on only those specific shares. The remaining shares were purchased at their original prices, so their average cost does not change.
